The RRCF was created by the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States to safeguard the breed that has captured our hearts.

The Rhodesian Ridgeback Charitable Foundation was created by the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States to safeguard the breed that has captured our hearts. The Rhodesian Ridgeback Charitable Foundation (RRCF) is currently celebrating our Ten Year Anniversary . We have committed to a fourth year of our previous match initiative in partnership with the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States (RRCUS). Our goal is to fund critical research to help fight canine cancer. Your generosity has been recognized! Both RRCF and RRCUS have been recognized for exceptional and ongoing dedication to supporting canine health research and are each recipients of the prestigious 2023 Distinguished Research Partner Award of the AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF). The AKC CHF is currently funding a multitude of research grants in many different oncology areas to help scientists study canine cancer - providing breakthroughs that will allow veterinarians to diagnose cancer earlier and treat it more effectively. You can make a difference by funding research to help our beloved Ridgebacks live longer, healthier lives. GRANTS
RRCF awards grants by approval of its board of directors, based on conformity and relevance to its mission. FUNDING
RRCF is funded by tax-deductible donations, which can be tailored to your situation. In addition to cash and credit-card donations, we can arrange for a monthly “sustaining” contribution from your checking or credit card account or gifts of appreciated securities. REMEMBER RRCF IN YOUR WILL Posthumous gifts to the Rhodesian Ridgeback Charitable Foundation can include a cash bequest, a gift of property, a share of the residue of your estate or the remainder of a trust after the lifetime of a family member. RRCF wishes to thank all of our supporters and the cooperation of RRCUS in our mission to Promote, Educate and Protect our breed. The AKC CHF has released the 2025 impact report that details where our donations are being used. We specifically supported general oncology, lymphoma and hemangiosarcoma research. The RRCF website has previous study reports under the Research Tab.

HEALTH SURVEY

Launched just before the RRCUS National Specialty Show and highlighted during the RRCUS Health and Genetics Committee (H&G) seminars in Ocala, the Rhodesian Ridgeback Health Survey is now up and running on the OFA website.

The OFA has developed survey formatting according to breed club requirements/requests. The data generated is then collated by the OFA at no cost to the breed club.

For the future health of our breed, the committee invites everyone to grab a cup of coffee and take a few moments to complete a survey - maybe one a day if multiple dogs. It’s easy and not too time consuming - 5 to 7 minutes. If you co-own a dog(s), make certain that one owner completes the survey. And don’t forget any that you’ve lost in the past 5 years. One survey per dog, totally anonymous.

Breeders, since the age groups begin at age 0, please consider entering whelps and baby puppies who failed to thrive, identifying the reason if known. In addition H&G would appreciate if you forward this information to your puppy owners so that they may also complete surveys.
