Thank you Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office for having us in Ruston this week! It's been amazing meeting Lincoln Parish officers and sharing a variety of ways to engage with LETR for SOLA. And a special thank you to Chief Deputy and LETR Executive Council Member Landon Hunt and Sheriff Stephen Williams for adding us as a payroll deduction option for officers and employees to support their local SOLA training programs.

Shreveport, LA Police Lieutenant Carries the Flame of Hope Across America 🔥🔥

Lieutenant Diana Sanchez participates in the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg for Special Olympics.

A few days ago, Lt. Sanchez traveled through some of California’s most iconic locations, alongside law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes from around the world, including the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, home of the 1932 and 1984 Olympic Games and future host of the 2028 Olympics. While carrying the Flame of Hope through the streets of Los Angeles to the Coliseum crowds lined the route, honking, waving, and cheering as the torch made its way through the city.
The Final Leg serves as a reminder that the Law Enforcement Torch Run is about far more than miles traveled. It is about inclusion, friendship, hope, and creating opportunities for Special Olympics athletes around the world.

We are incredibly thankful for Lt. Sanchez for representing the the State of Louisiana, and the Special Olympics movement on a national stage.

Keep carrying that Flame of Hope! 💙💛
