Gift-A-Lift

Last week was a GREAT week! Our volunteer mechanics are now checking out two vehicles, thanks to a few wonderful people! These cars had belonged to their elderly moms who recently passed away. Well maintained but old, we hope that these cars are in good enough shape to pass on to two deserving recipients. If so, two more lives will be changed soon!

If you have a vehicle that you no longer need, and if it has been well maintained over its life and is in decent condition, consider donating it to Gift-A-Lift - you can deduct the fair market value from your taxes if we can donate it to a person in need! www.gift-a-lift.org

Some great (but short) conversations today at the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce and Northshore Community Foundation Speed Connection event! I hope to connect again with a number of the folks I met. Together, we can do so much!

Gift-A-Lift is working to create awareness about our mission, successes, and needs. We change lives by providing vehicles to young adults from difficult backgrounds. In 2025 we donated 9 cars, thanks to donations from our local community! We need more people to consider donating a vehicle to us, and we need connections to car dealerships, mechanics, and other vehicle services! Perhaps you can help!

This was a great session! Thanks to Northshore Community Foundation for organizing it!

AI is changing the way we work—and our nonprofit partners are learning how to make it work for them!

We recently welcomed Sam Hardin, founder of Bright Pivot, for an engaging AI training designed specifically for our nonprofit partners. Sam dove into practical AI tools, how to make AI adapt to you (rather than the other way around), and ways to personalize your platforms so they better fit your needs and workflow.

A huge thank you to Sam for sharing his expertise, time, and knowledge with our nonprofit community! We’re excited to see how our partners put these tools to work.

One happy young lady! She had saved her money, and Gift-A-Lift was able to split the cost of this Nissan Sentra with her. With very few vehicle donations so far this year, we felt we needed to reach out and make this happen. It was so great to work with Berryland Motors in Ponchatoula.

You can help us change more lives - donate a vehicle - or get in touch to see how else you can help!

Our first donation of 2026 went to this young man, so he could start computer classes at NTCC and would not have to walk or bike the 2 miles to work! Cars from Gift-A-Lift are life changers! You can Change A Life!
