Camry & Cooper need your help!
Three years ago, Camry and Cooper (formerly known as Prozac and Ken) left our rescue as baby kittens and headed off to what we thought would be their forever home.
Unfortunately, three years later, they have found themselves back with us after their adoptive family decided they could no longer keep them.
Camry and Cooper have grown to be shy, anxious cats in their adulthood. Before their surrender, we had extensive conversations about how difficult returning to a busy rescue environment would be for two cats with their personalities. We offered assistance with food and medical expenses in hopes that would help them remain in their home, but ultimately their family still chose to surrender them. And neither cat is doing well with this adjustment.
They are trying to process losing the only home and family they’ve known for the last three years while suddenly being surrounded by unfamiliar cats, dogs, people, noises, smells, and constant activity.
They are overwhelmed, stressed, and are currently not eating in our care.
We desperately need to get them into a calm, quiet environment where they can decompress.
We are looking for a foster, but we are also open to potential adoptive homes.
Camry and Cooper need someone who understands shy cats and won’t expect them to immediately come out, socialize, or act “grateful.” They need patience. They need quiet. They need hiding places. And most importantly, they need someone willing to give them however much time it takes to feel safe again.
Their foster or adopter will also need to closely monitor their food intake so we can make sure they are eating consistently.
They do not have to stay together, although we do believe remaining together could make the transition a little easier for them.
Sometimes rescue isn’t just about saving an animal from the streets. Sometimes it’s about helping them survive having their entire world suddenly change. And this is the part where you can help.
