๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations to the John W. Jones Museum!

๐Ÿ’š The Annex is a 1,500 sq. ft. addition created to welcome larger school and tour groups, and to host on-site events, while minimizing damage to the main historic home.

About John W. Jones
The John W. Jones Museum is the historic former home of Underground Railroad Station Master John W. Jones. He became an active agent on the Underground Railroad in 1851, safely assisting 800 runaway slaves to freedom by 1860. In 1859, he served as sexton of Woodlawn Cemetery, where he buried nearly 3,000 deceased Confederate soldiers. He was so meticulous in his documentation that in 1877, the burial ground was declared a national cemetery by the federal government.
