Another quarterly Adopt-a-Highway is in the books on this glorious Saturday morning and our section of Polo Rd to Two Notch from the park is back to looking good. Come on Northeast Columbia folks....y'all need to do better, but just in case, we'll be back in mid-August to clean it up again! And if you're willing to help, reach out and let us know. Non-Rotarians are always welcome to join us!

How lucky are we this week at Spring Valley Rotary!

We’re excited to welcome Principal Temoney of Spring Valley High School as our guest speaker. He’ll be sharing what’s happening at the school and giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the impact being made right here in our community.

Even better — we’ll be awarding two outstanding students with $2,500 scholarships. This is one of those meetings that reminds you exactly why Rotary matters.

Come join us as we celebrate these incredible students and support the future of Spring Valley.

We’d love to have you join us in person—but if you can’t make it, we’ll be streaming live on Facebook so you don’t miss out.

(That said… nothing beats being there in person—great food, great people, and even better conversations.)

I left the first 90 seconds in so you can see I’m not Spielberg 🎥😂
(Walko)

Skip ahead if you want…
But make sure you watch what happens next,
because this is $20,000+ going straight into our community.

It is great to see all the charities and hear what they plan on doing with the money.

🔥 What a day. This is what impact looks like. 🔥

Today, our Rotary family didn’t just meet…
we gave back in a BIG way.

💥 Over $20,000 poured directly into our community.
Not talk. Not ideas. Action.

We’re proud to award 16 Community Grants totaling $20,624 to organizations that are out there every single day making lives better:

👏 The Big Red Barn
👏 CART Fund (Alzheimer’s Research)
👏 EMS Closet
👏 Harvest Hope Food Bank
👏 Harvest Pack
👏 Kind Acts for Humanity
👏 Lifeline Children’s Services
👏 Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary (Rotary Reads)
👏 Midlands Orphan Relief
👏 Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services
👏 Prisma Health Children’s Hospital
👏 Senior Resources (Meals on Wheels)
👏 Sons of the American Legion
👏 SVHS Interact Club
👏 SV Rotary Urban Garden Project
👏 Transitions

Take a second and look at that list…
That’s food, education, healthcare, children, seniors, veterans, animals—
that’s a community being taken care of from every angle.

And we’re not done…

🎓 On May 7, we’ll award two $2,500 scholarships to deserving SVHS students—because investing in the next generation is non-negotiable.

This is why Rotary matters.

Not for the meetings.
Not for the networking.

👉 For moments like this—when real people get real help.

If you’ve ever wondered what kind of group actually does something…
you’re looking at it.
