We are so proud of our Summer Reading Program Winner, Andrew, for reading 21 books and 7,236 pages during his summer vacation. Out of all the books he completed, his favorite was from The Hunger Games series. Andrew's passion for learning is evident in many ways, including his advanced reading level and his love for sharing scientific facts with the people he encounters. For his prize, he chose tickets to the Denver Aquarium, where he'll have the chance to see some of the animals he has enjoyed learning about. As he begins 6th grade, we know he will continue to expand his knowledge and share everything he learns with the community around him.

🩵 Community, we need your help! 🩵

We are seeking volunteers for our annual Labor Day Lift-off Fundraiser on Sept. 5-7! Participants will help guide traffic and direct parking vehicles as they arrive for the city’s iconic hot air balloon launch. Five separate shifts are available throughout the holiday weekend & all parking fees collected will support our work throughout the Pikes Peak region.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today for Sunrise at Shiloh Mesa’s Grand Opening and Ribbon-cutting Ceremony! Celebrating the beginning of this new chapter alongside many of the people and organizations who helped make this project possible was a moment we will always cherish.

Thank you, Mayor Yemi, for joining us and sharing a few words about the impact this community will have on the greater Colorado Springs area. We also want to thank our project partners, Woodmen Valley Chapel, The Center for Strategic Ministry, Medici Consulting Group, Alliance Construction, Way Architects, and Kimley Horn, as well as our funding partners, US Bank, CHFA, the El Paso County Housing Authority, The City of Colorado Springs, Myron Stratton Home, and the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments for their commitment to this project. Their collaboration helped turn Sunrise at Shiloh Mesa from a dream into the vibrant community it is today.

This celebration was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together with a shared vision. We’re grateful for everyone who helped bring Sunrise at Shiloh Mesa to life and excited to welcome and support every resident who will call Shiloh Mesa home.

We're grateful to the team at The Gazette for highlighting our second 62+ affordable housing community, Sunrise at Shiloh Mesa, and our strategic partnership with Woodmen Valley Chapel and The Center for Strategic Ministry that made the project possible. This piece also showcases the life-changing impact affordable housing provides through the first-hand experience of one of our newest residents, Sandi. Thanks to our partners, Sandi and her neighbors now have a stable and affordable community to call home and a place to build a bright future.

Last week, CHFA, Housing Colorado, and Greccio Housing hosted 5 State Senators, Representatives, and their staff for an informative discussion on housing finance, the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program, and trends in the affordable housing sector. The meeting and tours of Bentley Commons and The Ridge showcased the tangible community impact that is possible through the primary funding mechanism for new affordable housing units. We want to thank Sen. Marc Snyder (District 12), Rep. Amy Paschal (District 18), Rep. Ava Flanell (District 14), and the staff who attended on behalf of Sen. Tony Exum (District 11) and Rep. Ken DeGraaf (District 22) for dedicating the time to learn more about our vital industry. Affordable Housing is core infrastructure for a reliable workforce, family stability, and a thriving community.
