Big changes are coming to Colorado Avenue this summer!📊✍️The pre-project survey is LIVE TODAY!

What's changing? Following Territory Days, the City is launching a 12-month pilot project to calm traffic and revitalize the corridor:
🚗 Reconfiguring vehicle lanes from 4 down to 2, plus a center turn lane, between Limit and 31st Streets
🚶‍♂️ Adding new pedestrian crossings and refuges to make the street safer to cross on foot
🌳 Reclaiming asphalt in Old Colorado City to expand sidewalk and community space
🚲❌ Leaving out bike lanes in favor of retaining vehicle parking

Take the survey today, the City needs to capture your current experience. If you find it stressful to navigate Colorado Ave right now, or if the lack of direct bike access to OCC businesses frustrates you, make your voice heard

"Road safety is public safety." Last week Mayor Yemi officially kicked off the SafeStreetCOS initiative signaling a heartening shift in our city’s approach to transportation and transportation safety. Building on the City of Colorado Springs’s newly adopted Transportation Safety Action Plan

At Bike COS, our mission is to make bicycling in the Pikes Peak Region better for people of all ages and abilities. Swipe through to see how this initiative keeps all residents safe and works to address the safety concerns keeping people off their bikes

The ultimate goal? A 35% reduction in serious injury and fatal crashes by 2035.
