Since 1976, The Good Guys Golf Tournament has been putting smiles on both adults and children’s faces alike. The Good Guys was formed by Mr. Bud Rausser and several others as a way to give much needed support to the Little League system here in Chico. His first Tournament fund raising event was held at Bidwell Park Golf Course. To Bud and the local Little League of 1976, this very first tournament
fund raiser was a great success! Bud’s Good Guys Golf Tournament, the longest running golf tournament in Chico, has continued to be a great success and what started as a small gathering at The Bidwell Park Course, has grown to over 200 participants. The afternoons start with catered lunch and then golf at Canyon Oaks or Butte Creek Country Club, followed by steak dinners, raffles and silent and live auctions! Bud’s vision of helping Little Leagues has also grown. The Good Guys are committed to supporting many local youth sports, now including Cast Hope and Jr. However, it is the community’s commitment to Bud’s cause that has kept Chico’s youth “supported” for all of these years. The Good Guys committees of past and present express our gratitude and sincere appreciation for what the community continues to do for the Good Guys. Your continued support has helped raise over a half of a million dollars, every penny of which goes directly to the leagues. This is a powerful testimony to the mission of the community to make youth sports in Chico affordable to all.
