SKY PONDERS THE GIFT OF GRATITUDE JOURNALS
Many years ago I began a journey of writing down points of gratitude that I experienced throughout the day. Of course, I missed days sometimes, but check out the wagon load of my gratitude journals. I can pick up anyone of the journals and a smile and sometime gentle tears will flow remembering the goodness of God. God has taught me to look for His goodness in all things. I have a banner imprinted on my heart that GOD IS GOOD!

I wanted to update about the Uganda trip often, but in many places here you can't get on Facebook.

We are celebrating the new borehole and it was my privilege to pump the first jerry can and I must admit that it was a great work out. Clean water brings health and a sense of community. The villagers have worked hard to prepare for the installation of the borehole. They had to work hard to change habits to develop a healthy village. Ugandans know how to celebrate. It was one rewarding and fun day!

In closing, I am asking you all to pray for me. I have a bad cold and cough that might be going into bronchitis. I need to be well before my flight home so I don’t get delayed going through inspection.

You are Making a Difference for Good!
We will be visiting 4 villages with approximately 1,250 villagers in each village. Can you imagine how many smiles I am going to see, hugs that will be given, and how many roosters, chickens, and food I will receive? Yes, I will squeal when a rooster is given to me. Ugandans are very grateful people.
When ever we can we give them a photo of an American family when we give out TivaWater (TW) Filters and pray for the family. They just stare at the photo. It is hard for them to believe that people from a far of land are so kind. Many hang the photo in their mud hut and pray for you.

I ask you to pray for us as we travel. I ask you to pray as God is our Shepard and that we be aware of all the nudges that He gives us. We leave September 10th and come home late September 22nd.

I want to thank all the shoppers that shop at BTG Market at our home, Beatniks, and Cal Java. Tomorrow I am sending $8,000 to Uganda for a Borehole that is going in. I am in the process of getting rid of plastic in my kitchen. I am loving using my all wooden Kitchen Utensils. Thanks for making a difference for good.

Volunteers are such a vital part of BridgingtheGap4Water (BTG). It would be impossible to do what we do without them. Recently, I put 12 names in a jar and I am drawing one out each month to share with you. It was too hard to pick who I would want to start with.

I met Debi Wineroth eight years ago at a couples Bible Study and we became close friends and she began volunteering at BTG. Debi even got married in our living room. Debi was with me for the first trip I took to Africa after Grant slipped into Heaven. It was just the two of us and I was so grateful for her. She fell in love with the people and the work we do. She followed up with another trip to Uganda the next year. She services BTG Markets’s venue at Beatniks on a regular basis and you will always see her at the Annual Walk4Water selling merchandise.

In closing, I want to say that Debi is a friend and volunteer and that I would want to hear her thoughts on decisions that need to be made. She is an important part of BTG. Friendships are often formed while we work together for good.

I received this sweet letter today from a teenager that attended the Walk4Water in April. It was especially meaningful because I also just received a potential $8,000 match for TivaWater Filters if we can raise $8,000. I am looking forward to sharing with this young woman that she is now going to be giving two filters.

The 18th Annual Walk4Water on April 18th was a time to slow down and experience, to learn and to grow. Our volunteers made the event what it was, a morning full of kindness, education, and raising awareness of the need for clean water sources and training in sanitation and hygiene in developing countries. The Walk4Water couldn’t have happened without each and every one of you! BTG4WATER thanks you all from the bottom of our hearts.
