Angel Tree Sign-ups are HAPPENING!! The Salvation Army Chico Corps will be assisting children ages 0-12 and seniors ages 60+ this holiday season.

Sign-ups will take place October 8th-10th and October 29th-31st, 2026, from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM at 567 E. 16th St., Chico, CA.

Please bring proof of identity, proof of residence, and the required identification for each child or senior being registered. Applicants must live in Chico, Durham, Nelson, Forest Ranch, Paradise, or Magalia. For questions, please call (530) 776-1009.

We just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of the new members (and current members) who donated to The Chico Food Project in July. We’re committed to helping our community multiple times a year, and you guys showed up.

So many wonderful YOUNG helpers at the Food Locker today! We had a total of 6912 pounds of food picked up, sorted and shelved! Help was from the Knights of Columbus, Rainbow Girls, Chico High Key Club, National Charity League, American Heritage Girls, and of course our ladies, friends and families. If we missed anyone let us know. This does not include bags brought to the locker earlier in the week. If you missed the pick-up you can bring your bag to the locker and we will give you another. Thank you to all the Chico Food Project donors and volunteers. We could not do this without you!

From the Re-sisters:
Today Pat and Vic delivered 45 more pounds of food and $30 more coupons/coins for Farmers Market to the Chico Food Locker. Delayed this week because we only had my small donation last Saturday because most Re-Sisters were at the Disappeared Vigil. Then Pat and Vic got a treeful of fruit to donate, so made a run. Running totals are 3,104 pounds of food and $581 cash/coupons. Woot 💕🎉❣️ Tree fruit - must be washed and de-stemmed first. Also Candi collects clothing for our homeless siblings, looking especially for tee shirts, pull on shorts and flip flops right now in this heat. Thanks to all who donate. Let's keep it going!
