First we had four boxes for client cards, then last year we added another, and now we can no longer fit the cards in them, so we have needed bigger boxes! Thank you Rae for building our boxes and the shelf to hold them.

Thank you to local Girl Scouts who provided the locker with several pans and Birthday cake ingredients: cake mix, frosting, etc. They’re great!

We have been getting many requests for help with gas and rent. Unfortunately we are unable to help with either. For rental or housing assistance, we suggest you contact the Howard Slater Navigation Center, 101 Silver Dollar Way, 530-891-9048, [email protected]

Fantastic Blue Bag day today! We collected
9649 pounds of food and our shelves are looking much better! We had help from Chico and PV Key Clubs, Rainbow Girls, Notre Dame students, The National Charity League and the Knights of Columbus, as well as other helpers and our members. If you missed the pick-up you can bring your bag to the locker and we will record it and give you another (Don't forget we are closed Monday for Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day). Thank you all for your support of thr Chico Food Project!

Hello Food Donors,
A quick reminder that our next pickup is less than two weeks away, on Saturday October 10, 2026. Please have your food donations outside before 10:00 am on October 10 for one of our volunteer drivers to pick up and take to local food pantries. If you will be out of town or otherwise unable to donate, please email us at [email protected], or call us at 530-230-7232, and we will ask our driver to skip you. Also, if you are out of town please consider dropping off your donation directly to the local food pantry, hours 9 am to 12 noon, Monday through Friday:
Chico Community Food Locker
1386 Longfellow Ave.
Chico, CA 95926

In addition to the normal pantry items, they will also take toiletries and consider giving any of the holiday items including:

Stuffing mix
Mashed Potatoes
Corn Bread
Canned Pumpkin
Dessert mixes
Pickles, Olives, etc.
The need is bigger than ever. The pantries are getting slammed with requests for food. The high price of gas and inflation is pinching everyone's pockets, especially those that can afford it the least.

Blessings to all of you and have a wonderful Thanksgiving this fall!
