At True North Housing Alliance, we meet people where they are on their path to making a better life for themselves. We offer a spectrum of services that move people forward and out of homelessness in Butte County with compassion, dignity and accountability. Those services include: Street Outreach, Emergency Shelter, Bridge Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing and Rapid Rehousing.

Our team recently attended an annual summit hosted by our partners from the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. It was a great day of learning and connecting with other Butte County partners, such as Chico State Basic Needs (Hungry Wildcat Food Pantry ) and The Father's House.

We want to thank Lisa Roehling and the team at the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano Counties for all that they do. The food bank serves over 300 nonprofits in Northern California like ours who are fighting for food access and food security! They have become one of our largest partners for food distribution and grant opportunities. We simply could not meet the nutritional needs of our guests without their support! 🥖💙🍉

We were so honored to be invited to present in the Minute 4 Mission series at Bidwell Presbyterian Church! Thank you to Mary Matheson (pictured here with Paul, our Fund Development Director) and everyone at Bidwell Presbyterian Church for being so welcoming. Bidwell Presbyterian Church is always stepping up to help our guests and our programs at True North, volunteering to serve meals, taking on special projects, providing financial support, and more. We are so thrilled and so grateful to the North Valley Community Foundation and the Mike and Dotty Collett Animal Care Grant Program for supporting Duke's Pet Park & Kennel with a $5,000 donation! Look at all of these amazing organizations helping furry friends in our community. It just warms our hearts. 🐶❤🐾

Last Sunday, Tawnya felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude as she watched her children play and lovingly tease each other in their new home.

Tawnya used to be homeless. She was in our programs at True North for about half a year. During that time, she said our team supported her, treated her well, and made sure she was fed and "completely cared for so I could do the heavy lifting I needed to navigate the trauma and find stability for my kids."

Now they all share a place they can call home together. 🏠

"My kids and I are doing great again," she said. "Thank you for keeping me fed and okay while I grinded and got out of there and got them home with mom! I will never ever forget who had me during that time."

We are so proud of you and so happy for you and your kiddos, Tawnya! Thank you for sharing your story. 🤗

Say hello to our vocational training hospitality team: our director Mason is pictured here (left to right) with our shelter guests Antoine, Levi and Monique! 🤗

They prepared and served breakfast and lunch at the North State Housing Summit on August 25, presented by Chico Housing Action Team -- and it was delicious!🥪🍎

As part of our programming at the Torres Shelter, we offer valuable vocational training and skill-building opportunities in hospitality and in maintenance and facilities.

Hospitality program participants receive their California Food Handler Card and safety training, then they prepare, cook and serve meals, as well as assist with kitchen sanitation. We serve three meals a day at the shelter!

This program is focused on providing our guests with the training and skills needed to secure and pursue successful careers within the hospitality and food service industry. 🙌
