In honor of our May Healthy Here theme, Mental Health & Wellness, we want to extend a special thank you to Taryn for leading a restorative yoga session for our team.

Taking time to slow down, reconnect, and prioritize wellness is an important part of building a healthy workplace culture. The session gave staff an opportunity to move mindfully, reduce stress, and come together in support of one another's well being.

HRC’s MedEd Club students from Four Winds Indian Education, Chico State, and Elk Creek had an incredible opportunity to visit Touro University on April 29th for a full day of campus exploration, in person learning and college preparation experiences.

Students toured campus, explored the radiology and pharmacy labs, connected with faculty over lunch, and participated in academic, college prep, and financial aid sessions designed to help them envision their future in healthcare and higher education.

One of the most special parts of the day was arriving to customized Touro ID badges made just for our students!

We are so grateful to Touro University for their generosity, hospitality, and commitment to supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals. We had a spectacular time!

We just wrapped up another incredible internship cycle and couldn’t be more proud of this year’s intern team: Valeria, Devan, Taryn, and Bradley. Their dedication, hard work, and passion for supporting rural communities made a meaningful impact across Butte County.

And congratulations to Kadence, our Psychiatry Program Assistant, on graduating as well! We’re so excited to see all of the amazing things ahead for each of them.

As they move into the next chapter of their careers, we want to recognize the time, heart, and energy they poured into building community partnerships, supporting prevention programs, and helping expand HRC’s impact throughout the North State.

We’re incredibly grateful for our interns and proud to help develop the next generation of public health leaders in rural Northern California.

We are incredibly honored to be featured in and on the COVER of Upgraded Living Magazine’s Women in Business issue, sharing the mission behind Healthy Rural California.

At HRC, we believe where you live should never determine the quality of healthcare you receive. Through our psychiatry and family medicine residency programs, MedEd Clubs, Healthcare Professions Pathways Program (HPPP), and partnerships throughout Northern California, we are creating pathways for students and physicians to train, grow, and stay in rural communities.

This feature highlights the people, partnerships, and programs working every day to strengthen healthcare access across the North State. From introducing K–12 students to careers in medicine to training future physicians locally, we are focused on building sustainable healthcare solutions that will impact generations to come. Such a fun and eventful day at Chico State!

Our HRC MedEd Club got to tour the nursing skills labs, connect with current students, and see what real training looks like. We also learned about the admissions process and heard from the Public Health Club, which was super helpful for anyone thinking about going into healthcare.

Days like this are what it’s all about, getting exposure, asking questions, and starting to picture your future in the field.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed us and made the day so great!
