This Pride Month, we were honored to welcome Laverne Cox for a book talk on Transcendent at Center on Halsted! We extend a heartfelt thank you to Precious Brady-Davis for leading the conversation.

With Transcendent recently named a New York Times bestseller, we want to congratulate Laverne on this incredible milestone.

Laverne is a nationally recognized leader whose work continues to shape visibility and representation in our q***r and trans communities. At a time when trans identities are under attack, this conversation created space for reflection, connection, and inspiration.

We’re excited to introduce Black Futures: Community Meets the Moment.

Join Black LGBTQ+ and allied community members from across Chicago for an evening of honest conversation, meaningful connection, and collective reflection. Through a panel discussion and mixer, we’ll explore how we support one another and strengthen our communities in times of challenge and change.

Presented in partnership with Q***r Connections: Men of Color & Allies, we hope this gathering is the beginning of many more conversations to come.

- yesterday I had a chance to attend the Ge**er Hart Library and Archives & Intergenerational Dialogue Project’s Q***r Elder History Panel hosted at Dorothy’s.

One of the special panelists was our very own Center on Cottage Grove Outreach Manager, Betty. It was beautiful to hear her story & the stories of others.

Their stories were reminders of our collective history & a wonderful way to celebrate .
