Trix has been working with ICNC Advocacy and Economic Specialist Dalton Kay since spring on the Workforce Solutions Grant application for his moving company, A Move to Remember. This reimbursement grant requires a lot of documentation and planning, but all that hard work paid off today when A Move to Remember officially kicked off its participation in the grant program with the Employment & Employer Services and The City of Chicago Department of Planning & Development.

By creating a plan to upskill current staff and provide important on-the-job training for new hires, including ESL for truck drivers and D.O.T. safety regulations, A Move to Remember will receive up to $250,000 to reimburse the cost for accredited trainers needed to strengthen and grow its team.

The September Alderman's Breakfast at ICNC brought together entrepreneurs, small business owners, and community advocates from Ward 27 for insights, updates, connection, and conversation.

This session also included an informative presentation from Hannah Jones Chicago Planning & Development about SBIF grants.
