October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and at A Silver Lining Foundation, we’re reminded why our work matters every single day. 🩷

Behind every mammogram, ultrasound, MRI, or biopsy we fund is a person with a story. A mother, daughter, sister, friend, or neighbor who deserves access to timely, compassionate care. Through our Buy A Mom A Mammogram program and our 16 partner hospitals, we ensure that cost‑free breast health testing is available to anyone who needs it.

This month, we honor the strength of survivors, support those currently navigating diagnosis and treatment, and stand with families who have lost loved ones.

Hispanic women and men are more likely to face delays in breast cancer diagnosis due to barriers in access to screening and care.

BOOBazaar is coming on October 10, 2026! 🎃🩷

This event is hosted by Lou Is Local 815(LIL815), in honor of her mother, Dawn a breast cancer survivor and the owner of Quilted Creations Plus. Dawn’s experience showed how costly care can be, even with strong insurance, and inspired Lou to support others who face even greater barriers.

All proceeds from BOOBazaar benefits A Silver Lining Foundation, helping us provide cost‑free breast cancer testing for individuals with limited or no insurance.

Yesterday, the Chicago Wolves announced an incredible $3 million donation to local charities, and A Silver Lining Foundation was honored to be one of the recipients.

Wendy, Kendall, Dr. Sandy, and Greg were part of the celebration as we accepted this generous gift. This support strengthens our mission and the work we do every day for the community.

A huge thank you to the Chicago Wolves for their extraordinary commitment to local nonprofits. 💗

We're especially excited that ASLF Executive Director, Wendy Mitchell Gill, will be strutting the runway in Confidence Apparel fashions! Even better, one of the featured pieces from the show is being generously donated by Confidence Apparel for the silent auction at our upcoming 22nd Annual Gala, A Sterling Event, on October 17.

Yesterday marked my one-year work anniversary with A Silver Lining Foundation (ASLF), and what an incredible year it has been.

I can honestly say that I am in love with my role, my team, and the work we do every single day. It has been a privilege to serve an organization whose mission is so deeply meaningful and whose impact changes lives throughout our community.

This milestone is especially significant as it coincides with ASLF's 24th anniversary. I am honored to build upon the remarkable legacy established by our Co-Founders, Dr. Sandy Goldberg and Greg Hines, whose vision has ensured that thousands of individuals have received lifesaving breast health testing, regardless of their ability to pay.

The work I am doing is for my friends and extended family who have been impacted by cancer. It is for my sister-friends and loved ones who have fought the good fight and became members of a club they never wanted to join. It is for every person who lies awake wondering if they can afford the testing that could provide answers, hope, and peace of mind.

As I begin my second year with ASLF, I am excited about the opportunities ahead. I look forward to expanding the reach of our programs, serving more individuals and communities, and ensuring that financial barriers never stand between someone and the care they need.

Thank you to my team, our Board of Trustees and Associate Board, volunteers, donors, healthcare partners, and everyone who makes this work possible. Together, we are making a difference, one test and one life at a time.

I hope you'll join us in fighting the good fight. 🩷
