A special shoutout to and for guiding us and sharing your incredible knowledge about our local urban habitats.

The absolute highlight? We were lucky enough to spot the famous Piping Plovers! 🐤✨ Seeing these shorebirds thriving is the perfect reminder of why we protect our natural spaces.

On June 25th, the Sierra Club Chicago State Lobby Team gathered at the Green Door Tavern to raise a glass to a historic milestone! We celebrated the monumental passage of Illinois Senate Bill 3772, which successfully passed on May 30th.

This landmark legislation marks Illinois' very first bill to evaluate the cumulative impacts of industrial air pollution on minority communities. It was a beautiful night of great company, drinks, and well-earned celebration for our hard-working advocates and community partners who made this environmental justice victory possible.

We had a blast visiting Big Marsh Park last weekend! Huge thanks to Luis for showing us around and teaching us about the legacy of steel plants on the southeast side, the birds and animals that continue to live here, and what we can do to support recreation and ongoing environmental restoration 🌾🦫
