The mission of BFA International is to inspire people around the world to build a biblical foundation for their faith and to provide them with the resources to do it. The vision of Biblical Foundations Academy, International or "BFA International" came about as the result of time spent in the ancient tunnels under the Old City of Jerusalem. tern Wall inspired us to begin creating material for those who are seeking a biblical foundation for their faith. Since receiving the vision in Jerusalem there have been many opportunities to provide information, inspiration, and revelation to people around the world through television, radio, books, internet, DVDs, and live presentations. We believe that the world famous Lord’s Prayer Jesus talk to the multitudes in its original language, history and context is a life-changing message for Jews and Gentiles alike to get back to the Word of God and its application for His people. We also believe and practice the words of Jesus when he answered that the most important message in the Scripture is “to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves.” It is our prayer that those we reach will desire to become like Ezra, who “…set his heart to study the word of God, to observe it, and to teach it to His people.” (Ezra 7:10).

This week’s Prophet reading—traditionally called the Haftorah—is 1 Samuel 11:14–12:22. It accompanies the Torah portion Korach (Numbers 16:1–18:32).

This week’s Haftorah begins with the coronation of Saul, the first king of Israel. During the inauguration celebration the prophet Samuel castigates the people for having rejected God as their king in favor of a human monarch. Nevertheless, Samuel assures them that if the people and the king will faithfully obey God it will go well for them. The passage concludes with Samuel’s assurance that God will never abandon His chosen people.

Just when I thought we had run out of new ideas for our BFA International community, our director of technology raised the bar and our team successfully met the challenge. Introducing BFAi—Biblical Foundations Academy Intelligence! We are providing Ezra, a personal research and study assistant, to help you navigate this new study tool! I am still overwhelmed by how Ezra can access so much information with such precision…and so quickly!

What is really exciting is that Ezra only accesses exclusive BFA International content—nearly 700 audio, video, and written presentations—rather than searching the entire internet for information about who-knows-what, from who-knows-where. Ezra also has a BFAi translation of the Torah (the first five books of the Hebrew Bible) at his fingertips.

So, my friends, everything I have ever taught personally or with collaborators like Rabbi Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, Aaron Lipkin, Yehuda Glick, and Dr. Nehemia Gordon, a long-time BFA content collaborator, is now accessible to our BFAi research and study assistant Ezra.

So if you have a question about God’s Time (His clock), God’s Torah (His word), or God’s Tetragrammaton (His name) or just about anything else related to building a biblical foundation for your faith, just ask Ezra!

This week’s Prophet reading—traditionally called the Haftorah—is Joshua 2:1–24. It accompanies the Torah portion Sh’lach (Numbers 13:1–15:41).

This Haftorah relates the story of the two spies who go to Jericho in advance of Israel’s entrance into the land of Canaan. They are protected by a woman named Rahab, who confesses, “The LORD your God is the only God in heaven above and on earth below.” In turn, the spies promise to protect her and her family when the Israelites invade Jericho.

This week’s Prophet reading—traditionally called the Haftorah—is Judges 13:2–25. It accompanies the Torah portion Nasso (Numbers 4:21–7:89).

This Haftorah begins the famous story of Samson. After 40 years of Philistine oppression, God promises to raise up a deliverer. A divine messenger announces the birth and mission of Samson and instructs his parents about certain special requirements concerning their son. Samson is to be a Nazirite from the time of his conception to the end of his life.

After receiving so many requests for translations (rather overwhelming), we decided to raise the bar. Have you ever heard the saying:

Give a person a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a person to fish, and he’ll eat for a lifetime.

We have found a way to help you fish for the language, history, and context of your favorite verse or passage in the spirit of the KJV (Keith Johnson version).

We are working to provide access to a new tool that will start with the Torah (the first five books of the Bible). Depending on how well it is received, we will add the Prophets and the Writings to complete the Tanach (Hebrew Scriptures).

We hope to be ready to share this innovative approach with our BFA International community soon!
