We had a great turnout for our 2nd Annual “Pickleball for a Purpose” tournament yesterday at the The Cornwell Center in Charlotte! Multiple teams entered to compete for cash prizes and bragging rights, until next year! And our volunteers had almost as much fun as the players! In addition to fun and good-natured competition, all funds realized as a result of this event will be donated to our 501c3, Dilworth Charities, for service projects we support throughout our communities!

One of our seven areas of focus in Rotary is protecting and sustaining our environment. Yesterday, we received an excellent presentation from Heather Brent, an Urban Forest Educator and arborist with TreesCharlotte. Tree planting season has begun and Dr. Brent provided some very helpful information on how we can all help to contribute to our area’s tree canopy.

We have some incredibly interesting speakers at our weekly meetings! We meet at The Penguin Club, 1531 East Blvd., almost every Friday, beginning at 11:30 am.
