Our Dilworth Rotary Club is so excited to welcome back Angie Rikard of Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center. Angie will give us an update on that wonderful organization but will also treat us to a few numbers from her latest CD, "The Voices Calling" which is available in a number of places including Spotify! Angie has a magical, earthy voice and her guitar playing is just exceptional. I hope you can join us at Mother's Comfort Food, 4271 Park Rd, Charlotte, in the Park Road Shopping Mall!

Finding a Way Forward for Formerly Incarcerated Women

The Charlotte Dilworth Club enjoyed an excellent presentation from Diane Hunt, volunteer at Changed Choices, a faith-based organization dedicated in helping women successfully reenter society through job assistance, housing searches, counseling services, spiritual support and collaboration with community organizations. Diane shared with us that 50% of people released from prison end up re-arrested within three years. Changed Choices, through their intentional programming and wraparound support, has improved that rate to greater than 97% since their inception. In 2026, they are at 100%.

We had a great turnout for our 2nd Annual “Pickleball for a Purpose” tournament yesterday at the The Cornwell Center in Charlotte! Multiple teams entered to compete for cash prizes and bragging rights, until next year! And our volunteers had almost as much fun as the players! In addition to fun and good-natured competition, all funds realized as a result of this event will be donated to our 501c3, Dilworth Charities, for service projects we support throughout our communities!
