We are proud to be able to support emerging writers from North & South Carolina through The Charleston Literary Festival Wayland and Marion Cato Fellowship Prize.

Last year's recipients Arshia Simkin and Mercedes Rodriguez were fixtures throughout our Festival and this year's winner will enjoy the same immersive experience, networking opportunities, a featured talk at the Festival and a stipend.

The deadline for submissions is one week away, so tag an emerging writer from the Carolinas so they don't miss this wonderful opportunity!

In 2022, Hernan Diaz joined us at the Festival right before he became a co-recipient of the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for Trust. This year, he’ll be back on our stage to discuss his latest book, Ply.

It’ll be out next month on September 29 and we can’t wait for you to read it with us
