Charleston Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1989 after Hurricane Hugo. We are an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit Christian housing organization with a mission to end poverty and substandard housing by providing affordable homeownership and home repair opportunities in partnership with local, qualified families in need.

🌈🏠 We are incredibly honored to share that Charleston Habitat for Humanity was recognized with the Rainbows Award by Charleston Pride at Pride Night with the RiverDogs last night! ⚾️✨

The Rainbows Award recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations who dedicate their time and energy to improving the LGBTQ+ community, and we are deeply grateful for this recognition.

Thank you to our Director of Advocacy & Community Engagement, Kristen Williams, and Community Outreach Manager, Alex Benson, for accepting the award on our behalf and for their dedication to our Build with Pride initiative. We are especially thankful for the support of Team Up, which helped open these doors and provided the framework for meaningful bridge-building efforts that have extended far beyond Build with Pride.
