We’re thrilled to welcome our newest Garden Educator, Lilli Paige! 💚

With a background in environmental studies and a concentration in environmental education focused on permaculture, Lilli Paige is one of our dedicated Garden Educators. Before joining us, Lilli Paige worked as an environmental educator with Coastal Expeditions and as a garden educator at Naples Botanical Garden. She has a passion for teaching others about the wonders of plants and how they can inspire us, and she’s thrilled to finally combine her plant-focused lifestyle (and love!) with her career, surrounded by people who share her enthusiasm. Lilli Paige spends her free time tapping into her creative side through gardening, printmaking, and cross-stitching, along with thrifting and exploring fashion. She also keeps 3 fish tanks at home, including one semi-aquatic tank that she built herself!

If you spot her out in the gardens, say hi! We’re sure she’ll have a fun, plant-inspired fact to share with you! 🌿

Grateful for the support from the Charitable Society of Charleston team! 💚

Today is , and we’re celebrating the organizations that make Charleston a better place every single day.

At the Charitable Society of Charleston, we’re fortunate to work alongside nonprofits tackling very different needs across our community, from caring for children and families to fighting hunger, supporting survivors, educating young people, and helping animals find loving homes.

This year, we’ve been proud to support:

MUSC Children’s Health
My Sister's House
Lowcountry Food Bank
The Green Heart Project
Pet Helpers Adoption Shelter and Spay/Neuter Clinic

To Charleston’s nonprofits: thank you for everything you do for our community.

And to everyone looking for a way to help, find an organization you care about and get involved. Volunteer. Donate. Attend an event. Share their work. Every little bit of support matters.

Back to school and back to the garden! We’re gearing up for another school year with our curious gardeners, and we can’t do it without you!

From August 15th to September 15th, The Green Heart Project is rallying the Charleston community to help local students engage in hands-on, garden-based learning this school year.

This school year, your support will help us:
🌱 Keep garden beds growing and lessons hands-on
🌱 Pair students with volunteer mentors
🌱 Bring fresh produce from garden to cafeteria
🌱 Tie every lesson to SC state learning standards

Every gift, big or small, helps us plant the seeds for a healthier, more connected school year for Charleston students.

Make a direct gift online, or take it a step further - create your own fundraising team and invite friends, family, or coworkers to join you in supporting the cause! 💚
