Join AIA Charleston for a Building Tour of the newly completed Porter-Gaud Chapel & Education Wing!

Explore this project designed by McMillan Pazdan Smith, featuring a 600-seat chapel, education wing, and a replica of the historic Porter Military Academy bell tower. Attendees will experience the completed interiors, including custom mahogany pews, intricate tile work, and stunning sapele-wrapped roof trusses.

Learn how the design team balanced historic architectural character with modern building codes and construction practices.

HAPPENING TOMORROW: go behind the scenes of Courier Square Phase II, a major mixed-use development reshaping downtown Charleston through thoughtful urban infill, pedestrian-focused design, and Charleston-inspired public space. Designed by LS3P in collaboration with Sottile & Sottile, RAMSA, and The American College of the Building Arts, the project features 300 residential units, ground-floor retail, and nearly an acre of open space centered around a relocated live oak tree.

6:30-8 p.m.: Lecture by Vince Graham, local developer of the I’On community in Mount Pleasant - Dock Street Theatre, 135 Church Street

Friday, March 20 at City Hall, 80 Broad Street
5-6:30 p.m.: Wrap-up presentation where design team will show the week’s progress and discuss next steps
