Donation days Monday 10-2pm and Friday 10-2, Last Saturday of the month 9-12 Central Furniture Rescue provides furniture and household items at no cost to individuals and families who are transitioning out of homelessness and into their own places to live. A socially and environmentally responsible option

Furniture Rescue actively recycles, working with city authorities and private organizations to divert as much waste from landfills as possible. To manage our inventory effectively and sustain our mission, CFR may sell overstock items when necessary. We do not receive mail at our physical location

This article is one of the reasons why donating gently used or new household items and furniture to CFR is crucial to the health of our landfills. Today is a "Furniture Day", so please consider us. Not sure if we take it? Send us an email and we'll let you know. Remember, we reserve the right to turn away items that do not meet our quality standards.

Every week on trash day, truckloads of waste are hauled off to three dozen landfills across the state. But some Iowa landfills are nearing the end of their lifespans, prompting communities to look elsewhere.

We did it! Thank you Mercy Hospital, KJ Haul Away, and our volunteers for the amazing work yesterday. We successfully rerouted hundreds of pounds from our landfill just in time for World Environment Day!
