What if caring for the land starts with changing how we see it?

On June 17, we’re bringing acclaimed environmental writer Emma Marris to TACAW for a night that might just change the way you think about nature, conservation, and what it means to show up for the land.

Author of “Wild Souls” and “Rambunctious Garden”, Emma's work asks the questions most of us haven't thought to ask — and her answers are hopeful, surprising, and backed by science. Whether you've read her books or you're hearing her name for the first time, this is an evening you won't want to skip.

Date: June 17th
Time: 7:00 pm | Doors open at 6:30 pm
Tickets: $20

We hope to see you there!

What if your weekend plans left something lasting?

Lost Man Loop draws hikers, backpackers, and wanderers from all over. Sweeping views, high elevation, pure Colorado magic. And because so many people love it, it needs ongoing care to stay that way.

On July 10-12, RFOV is hosting an overnight stewardship projects on the loop in partnership with the . Over the course of the weekend, you’l hike in, work the trail, share meals under the sky, and make real, lasting impact on a place that means a lot to this community.

This is the kind of volunteer experience that reminds you why you fell in love with the outdoors in the first place. Gear support available if needed. $75 deposit required, fully refunded when you complete the project.

Last week, folks from the guest services and marketing teams joined us to help improve the ABC trail in Aspen. We had a blast improving trail access by clearing the corridor surrounding this busy and well-loved connector trail.

Huge thanks and appreciation to the Aspen Chamber, not only for their efforts on this volunteer day but for their ongoing support and partnership!

🌱 Spruce Up Your School at Elk Creek Elementary! 🌱

Third graders in New Castle got their hands in the dirt, planting a native pollinator garden right at their school's entrance. Now, every time they walk through the doors, they'll get to watch their hard work bloom and grow — a living reminder of what they helped create.

Stewardship starts young, and moments like these are exactly why we love inspiring the next generation of land stewards. When kids connect with the earth, something clicks — just ask them:
"Now I understand why my Mom likes gardening."
"This is actually fun!"
"I love working in the garden. I am going to be a farmer when I grow up."
That's the magic of hands-on learning.

Last weekend we headed to New Castle for an invasive removal and native reseeding project at Talbott's Burning Mountain and the turnout was incredible! Volunteers putting in some serious work to restore this spot. Then we did what you do after a great day outside — headed to for some cold ones and to celebrate. Thank you to our awesome partners: .mtb.trails, , and the New Castle Climate & Environment Commission. Here's to many more Saturdays like this one!

What a way to kick off the season! Two down, one to go in our Red Hill Project Series — and the energy has been incredible. Volunteers have shown up in a big way, putting in amazing work on the trails while soaking up some quality community time together.

We've got one more project next week for this series, and we'd love to see you out there!

Huge thank you to everyone who's made this series possible — our volunteers and an incredible lineup of partners: , Town of Carbondale, , and the BLM. Cheers to for funding our work! We’re honored to be part of their Two For The Trails program. This is what it looks like when a community comes together to take care of the places we all share.
