Teachers have a lot to juggle, and finding time to plan hands-on science activities can be tough. That’s where the Aspen Science Center comes in! We bring the activities, materials, and instruction right to the classroom, giving teachers one less thing to plan and students more opportunities to explore STEM.

Good news: our match has been extended!

Thanks to our generous match partners, every gift to the Aspen Science Center is still being DOUBLED, now through October 23.

That means more hands-on, bilingual science in classrooms from Aspen to Parachute. More building, testing, failing, and trying again. More "aha!" moments.

Roughly half the students in the Roaring Fork, Re-2, and Garfield 16 districts speak Spanish at home.

In 2025, we delivered 77 bilingual and Spanish-language programs for 1,119 people. Our goal is to deliver bilingual versions of everything we run, so that every student in the Roaring Fork Valley has access to our programming. Help us get to our goal!

A small thing we can’t stop thinking about.

In 1973, a science center opened in San Diego’s Balboa Park — the first in the world to put interactive exhibits, a planetarium, and an IMAX dome under one roof. It was named for Reuben H. Fleet, the aviator President Woodrow Wilson tapped to start the U.S. Air Mail Service. Fleet and his family made the founding gift.

The Reuben H. Fleet Foundation has supported that museum for decades. This month, the same foundation is supporting ours — putting $4,000 behind a match for the Aspen Science Center. An ASC Board Member, added $1,000.

Two science centers, 900 miles apart, one funder who believes in both.

There’s a nice symmetry in it. The Fleet is a place children get bused to. We’re the science that gets driven out to the schools to remove the transportation barrier and make sure all students have access – from Aspen to Parachute.

Aspen Science Center and Snowmass Tourism are thrilled to present Science in Snowmass, a weekend-long celebration of all things science and discovery in Snowmass Village! The event will take place September 11-12th, with details here: https://www.gosnowmass.com/science/

The weekend will bring together paleontology, climatology, ecology, astronomy, and community engagement through a series of educational science programs inspired by the 2010-2011 Snowmass Ice Age Discovery.
