Open House Community of Practice

Join us at 7 PM ET this Thursday for an open house Community of Practice with Dr. Ana Iltis, who will introduce emerging applications of artificial intelligence in health care and explore potential benefits and risks. The presentation will also consider what responsible integration of AI into health care requires.

Participants will be invited to share their own experiences with AI, whether intentionally or simply because it is embedded in the tools they already use, and to reflect on how AI is shaping their work, their patients’, clients’ & parishioners’ expectations, and the future of their professions. Additionally, in collaboration with the CrossRoad Institute, OCAMPR will be surveying members and Community of Practice participants about their observations and thoughts about young people’s use of AI Chatbots. This optional survey will be made available at the event and following via email.

We invite you to read the article below in advance if you have time. Dr. Iltis will reference it during her presentation, and it offers helpful context for the themes we’ll be exploring together.

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27

You are not alone. You are loved. Every day that you keep going is a courageous one, and you don't have to walk that journey in silence. We are meant to live and love in communion, especially in our suffering.

If you or someone you know are struggling with thoughts of su***de and/or other mental health crises call the 24/7 Su***de Lifeline (1-800-273-8255) or text 'HOME' to 741741. What sets the Assembly of Bishops' Peace of Mind training apart from a typical Mental Health First Aid course? Orthodox Bridging guides participants though mental health in a way that is clinically accurate and theologically grounded.

We believe this unique, foundational discussion - combined with Mental Health First Aid - enhances pastoral care by reducing mental health stigma and increasing mental health literacy.
