As the only nonprofit in Brookline focused on the community as a whole, the Brookline Community Foundation builds a Brookline where everyone who lives, works, learns here can prosper and thrive. We work with community groups to assess needs and solve problems through targeted grantmaking. We lead on important community issues to identify levers of change and to move Brookline forward.

🎓 Congratulations BHS Class of 2026! We’re proud to celebrate this year’s Brookline High School (BHS) scholarship recipients.

On May 28th, BCF celebrated winners of a new slate of BHS scholarships, including 59 scholarships totaling $224,500 from 10 funds held at BCF.

Twelve graduating seniors received substantial awards from the BCF Scholarship Fund for Brookline High School, an endowed fund that provides support based entirely on financial need. We were excited to hear about students' plans to pursue careers in computational science, physical therapy, music, communications, and more.

BCF Scholarship recipient B'Call Hooks said it best: "Being able to receive a scholarship that supports me over four years of college is a great privilege, and I promise you, I will not let it go to waste."

We’re excited to share a message from Pam Hess, our new Executive Director.

In her message to the BCF community, Pam reflects on what attracted her to the Foundation:, bringing people together, supporting organizations doing important work, and responding to the evolving needs of the community.

“Over the coming months, my focus will be on listening and learning. I look forward to meeting neighbors, nonprofit leaders, donors, and community partners and hearing what you value most about Brookline, as well as what challenges you see, and what opportunities lie ahead.”

Brookline Community Foundation supporters gathered recently at the Brookline Senior Center to learn about a powerful partnership with the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI).

Since 2017, BCF has supported MABVI’s work locally with eight grants totaling $62,000—helping ensure older adults experiencing vision loss can access the services they need to live with dignity and independence.

Through this collaboration, seniors who may not qualify for vision-related benefits can still receive critical support right in the community. We also saw firsthand how assistive technology paired with individualized training can open new doors for connection and confidence.

We left inspired by what’s possible when community partners come together to close gaps and expand access.
