Puppet Showplace Theater is dedicated to presenting outstanding professional puppetry to diverse audiences through performances, workshops, and community outreach. Each year, we present over 300 performances at our historic theater, located in Brookline Village. Our touring shows reach thousands more at schools, libraries, and cultural centers throughout the Northeast region. We offer workshops, classes, summer camps, and training opportunities to both children and adults, and we partner with local and emerging artists to develop exciting new work.

Boston 👀 This Halloween weekend, join us for a hilariously spooky Slavic fairy tale! When Lisa, a brave young girl with a heart of gold, meets Baba Yaga, the most famous witch in the woods, an epic battle of wits ensues. Last weekend was extra-sweet! 🥰 These smiling kiddos are wearing their very own Sugar Glider-inspired paper headbands, which they created in our lobby after performances of “Sugar Stories” by . We’re always excited to offer crafts inspired by the show after select performances — seeing the end results makes it even sweeter!

Calling all performers! 🙋‍♀️ Puppet Showplace is seeking artists to perform at our Fall Puppet Slam on Saturday, November 14!

This is your opportunity to dust off an old project or showcase something brand new! We are seeking a diverse group of artists to present short works that are primarily puppet-based, but may also include music, dance, circus, etc. We are interested in works created by seasoned professionals, as well as beginners — maybe even first-time puppeteers!

Love puppets, but hate sewing? 😏 Adults 18+ are welcome to register for “I Love Puppets, But Hate Sewing!” A Puppet Sculpting Workshop with Nate Puppets on Saturday, November 7. Armed with a trusty glue gun, you will learn the basics of Nate Puppets’ personal puppet making techniques, including foam sculpture, fabric patching, on-the-fly changes, and "the secret crust."
