National Electricity Day reminds us how far we've come, and where we're headed. ⚡🚗

The cars of yesterday run on gasoline and leave harmful emissions behind. The of tomorrow are powered by electricity, charged by clean energy, and driven by innovation.

As we transition from fossil fuels to locally generated solar and wind power, we're building a future that's cleaner, more efficient, and more resilient.

FIFA claims to be committed to sustainability, but on the world's biggest stage it's partnering with Saudi Aramco - one of the world's largest fossil fuel companies. FIFA can't position itself as a climate leader while accepting sponsorship from a company that continues to expand fossil fuel production.

Join us in telling FIFA to drop Aramco as a World Cup sponsor.

The Trump administration is continuing its attacks on our waters by unlawfully allowing destructive commercial fishing in more marine national monuments. It's more urgent than ever for us to stand together against these threats to our ocean.

President Trump on Thursday opened up previously protected areas of the Pacific Ocean to commercial fishing. Trump signed a proclamation opening up commercial fishing at three marine national monum…

Good news! Despite the current administration's efforts to prop up coal, solar and battery storage are dominating new power development in the U.S. ⚡️

Since last summer, nationwide grid reliability has improved thanks to solar and batteries. Aging coal plants are being replaced by cheaper, faster-to-build clean energy resources that are meeting growing electricity demand.

The evidence is clear: clean energy is the way to go.

The Trump administration is trying to open the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument to commercial fishing. A recent survey by New England Aquarium revealed just a sliver of the marine life that this reckless, illegal move puts at risk: endangered whales, threatened sea turtles, and much more.

CLF has teamed up with NRDC and Center for Biological Diversity to sue the Trump administration to protect this priceless, irreplaceable life.

Yesterday, Rhode Island stopped an eleventh-hour push to pass a bill that would allow utility companies to own power plants in the state. The move would have rewritten a 30-year-old law prohibiting such ownership, potentially leaving energy customers responsible for the costs of expensive power plant investments.

This attempt to overturn the law tried to take advantage of the very end of a legislative session, which would have allowed the bill to skirt thorough review and public scrutiny of its potential impacts.

CLF and other environmental advocates quickly raised concerns about the proposal, prompting lawmakers to pull the bill from consideration. The decision marks a significant victory and preserves longstanding protections for Rhode Island energy customers.

Puffins have to be some of the cutest seabirds out there, right? ❤️

Atlantic puffins nest on secluded offshore islands in Maine and often winter in the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument.

Fun fact - a group of these birds is called an improbability of puffins!
