MOAR - Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery Our DEI Statement: MOAR is a voice for all people seeking the benefits of recovery.

Our Mission: To organize recovering individuals, families and friends into a collective voice to educate the public about the value of recovery from alcohol and other addictions. Our Vision: MOAR envisions a society where addiction is treated as a significant public health issue and recovery is recognized as valuable to all our communities. We are committed to doing the work necessary to address the struggles and inequities diverse groups of people face while seeking recovery services. Systemic racism, prejudice, and bias have been deeply ingrained in the history of the American health care system. MOAR is committed to work to create a collective voice for those seeking recovery for all people who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and oppressed.

We're setting up our planning meetings for this year's Holiday Celebration and wanted to invite the recovery community to join in on the conversation.

To our Recovery Center peers: We ask that you have someone from your center and/or any of peers of the center to attend if possible.

The meetings are scheduled for 6pm on these dates:

October 19
November 2
November 16
November 23
November 30

📢 Update from Clean Slate MA

There is still an opportunity for Massachusetts to pass Clean Slate legislation in 2026.

Here’s a quick update on where things stand:
The MA Senate included a Clean Slate provision in its version of An Act Relative to Economic Development in the Commonwealth (S.3178). The House version of the bill does not currently include the provision. Because the House and Senate versions are different, a six-member Conference Committee is working to reach an agreement and create a final version of the bill.

What is Clean Slate?
Right now, people who are eligible to have certain criminal records sealed must go through a manual process. This can be difficult to navigate. Clean Slate would create an automatic process for sealing certain eligible records after the required waiting period.

Interested in learning more or having your voice heard?

Clean Slate MA is asking folks to contact their State Representative and State Senator and ask them to connect with members of the Economic Development Conference Committee about including Clean Slate sealing in the final bill. Learn more: https://www.cleanslatema.org/

What a beautiful evening of reflection, gratitude, and hope.

MOAR was honored to be part of Together in the Light, celebrating 10 years of The Sun Will Rise Foundation, Inc., the incredible legacy of Team Sharing, Inc , and the extraordinary work of Cheryl Juaire.

MOAR has been proud to be a longtime partner and supporter of both Team Sharing and The Sun Will Rise. We have seen firsthand the impact of their commitment to ensuring that people and families who have experienced loss related to substance use know that they are not alone.

Saturday’s celebration was a beautiful reflection of that legacy — honoring Cheryl’s relentless dedication, the countless families and communities touched by this work, and the many people who have helped carry these organizations forward.

As Team Sharing and The Sun Will Rise come together, we’re excited to see what this next chapter will bring. This merger is not an ending, but a continuation of a shared commitment to connection, compassion, remembrance, and hope.

Congratulations to Cheryl, Robyn, and everyone who has poured their hearts into this work over the past decade and beyond. MOAR is grateful to stand alongside you and looks forward to continuing this journey together. 💜

This past Sunday, October 4, Team MOAR showed up and showed out at the Shatterproof Walk to End Addiction! 🎉

Our partnership with Shatterproof was a tremendous success, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who helped make it happen. To everyone who walked with us, donated, shared our posts, encouraged our team, or simply cheered us on — THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Your generosity means so much to MOAR and helps us continue our work to make recovery Visible, Vocal, Valuable, and Victorious. We are eternally grateful for every single person who supported Team MOAR.
