The Downtown Boston Residents' Association is an independent organization that was formed in 2014 by residents of the Downtown neighborhood. The 600+ member organization, run exclusively by volunteers residing in the neighborhood, facilitates community building and ensures that residents are informed and have a voice in key decisions that stand to impact Downtown Boston.

Last Thursday, we organized the Downtown Boston Public Safety Summit to discuss and debate where we’ve been, progress since our February public safety convening, and the work that remains to address congregate drug activity, addiction, criminal activity, and homelessness in and around Downtown Boston. Hundreds of Downtown residents and stakeholders gathered at the stunning Emerson Cutler Majestic Theater to hear from several public officials, civic and social services leaders, law enforcement partners, business and trade alliances, and non-profit and institutional partners.

The most memorable part of the evening, for us, was the presentation of the Frontline Hero Awards to well-deserving groups and individuals who show up and get the job done every single day.
