Discovering Justice

Discovering Justice Founded in 1998 with the support of the federal judiciary at Boston’s John Joseph Moakley U.S.

Discovering Justice is empowering a rising generation of leaders through an innovative civics curriculum which utilizes courtrooms as classrooms and classrooms as civic spaces—encouraging agency, empathy, and voice in K-8 students across Massachusetts. Courthouse and the Boston Bar Foundation, Discovering Justice has been a leader in civics and social studies education in Massachusetts since its i

nception. Our civics curriculum and experiential programs put young people at the center of the critical decisions that have shaped, and are shaping, history. Guided by teachers and community volunteers, students have the opportunity to participate in our democracy and extend civic learning into their own neighborhoods and communities.
