Ellie Popkin's neighbors rallied around her during the hardest moments of her 15+ year breast cancer journey. That same spirit lives on in every patient we serve, including Stephanie, who calls the Ellie Fund team her family.

Now, Stephanie gives back to the organization as a dedicated volunteer and shining light in our office and at Ellie Fund events. We are so grateful to have her be part of our Ellie Fund family.

A heartfelt thank you to for joining us at the Breast Cancer Community Empowerment Summit.

Through education, community, and peer support, SurvivingBreastCancer.org is helping individuals impacted by breast cancer navigate treatment, survivorship, and life beyond diagnosis. Their commitment to ensuring that no one faces breast cancer alone makes a meaningful difference for patients and families across the country.

We are grateful for their participation in the Summit and for the important work they do every day to connect, empower, and support the breast cancer community.

Together, we can continue advancing awareness, access, and equity for all.

Ellie Popkin was an active member in the Newton community throughout her life. In her spirit, her sons founded Ellie Fund 30 years ago, as a way to provide community support to ANY ONE being treated for breast cancer in Massachusetts. That inclusivity makes patients like Charlie feel welcomed and supported.

More patients reached. More families supported. More impact made. 💗

This May, Ellie Fund provided $212,595 in essential services and supported 191 NEW patients and their families, representing a 55% increase from May 2025.

Growth is more than a number. It means reaching more patients with support that eases financial pressure, reduces logistical stress, and removes barriers to treatment.

Thank you to all of our supporters and partners who make our work possible.

Nobody saves for breast cancer. Breast cancer patients are often left with $8,000 to $9,000 in unexpected costs after treatment.

Our Executive Director sat down with Boston Public Radio to talk about why support services have to be part of the treatment plan, and what Ellie Fund is doing to make sure no patient has to choose between treatment and basic needs.

A milestone moment for Ellie Fund. 🎙️

Our Executive Director joined Boston Radio, one of Boston’s most respected platforms, to talk about our services, health equity, and our role leading the Boston Breast Cancer Equity Coalition.

Being on this show represents something bigger than a single interview: proof that the health equity conversations we’ve been working to elevate are now happening in the mainstream.

Nationally, Black women are 38% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women despite similar screening rates. We can address that gap. 🩷
