80% of the kids who come to see an Adam Theater show have never seen a live theater show.

That’s the number we keep coming back to.

Today MassNonprofit News reported that we’ve raised over $1.1 million heading into our 2026–2027 season. New grants. Renewing funders. Private donors who believe in what Ran and I are building.

To date we reached 10,000 people, including 4,000 kids who saw live theater for the first time. More than 100 schools are waitlisted for Library Lion in 2027. The demand is real, and now we have the resources to start meeting it.

This is just the beginning. Every dollar we raise is another kid in a seat, seeing something live for the first time. We’re building something that lasts for the kids of Greater Boston who deserve access to high-quality theater.

Today reported that we've raised over $1.1 million heading into our 2026–2027 season. New grants. Renewing funders. Private donors who believe in what Ran Teodor Bechor and Karin Sharav-Zalkind are building.

To date we reached 10,000 people, including 4,000 kids who saw live theater for the first time. More than 100 schools are waitlisted for Library Lion in 2027. The demand is real, and now we have the resources to start meeting it.

We got some good news this week. The Boston Foundation The Boston Foundation awarded Adam Theater a $15,000 grant from the Free for All Endowment Fund.

Kids today hear music everywhere, but almost never live. Watching a room of second graders discover what a real cello sounds like, it’s magical.

Charles Ansbacher believed music belongs to everyone in this city, and this fund carries that belief forward. From day one Ran Teodor Bechor & karinsharav believed in investing in live music because the children of Greater Boston deserve high-quality music in their lives, not as a luxury, but as a given.

Today is the final day of our spring campaign - Three Years of Wonder.

So far, you’ve helped us raise nearly $4,000. Every gift came from someone who believes Greater Boston kids deserve a professional theater of their own, and we feel that every single time another donation comes in.

We’re not done yet. Every gift before midnight tonight is part of what we’ll carry into year four.

“In order to understand content, my students need something called 'pre-teaching.' They need to be explicitly taught the concepts that will be present in a learning experience before that experience takes place.

The pre-show workshop was a wonderful opportunity for my students to learn about the plot, characters, and setting of the show. They also learned about the themes that would take place in the story. As a result, my students were better able to comprehend the show.

Throughout the performance, my students were so engaged. Seeing the pure wonder and amazement on their faces throughout the performance meant so much to me. The staff at the theater were so accommodating. They helped support smooth transitions for my students and ensured that all of our accessibility needs were being met.

This is the type of programming that highlights the inclusivity and celebration of differences that takes place in Boston.”

We build our programs this way on purpose. Every kid in the room. Not just present authentically included.

People ask us all the time: what actually goes into one of your shows?

For Library Lion, it was months of rehearsals, puppet-building, original music scored and played live, a full design team, pre-show workshops in every participating classroom, and transportation coordinated for thousands of students - so every kid could get to the theater without their family needing to pay.

We make work that's live, artistically daring, and made for the whole child. And we make sure every kid can be in the room.
