A herd is coming to Back Bay... 🐘❤️

From August 8 through September 13, 100 life-sized elephant sculptures will transform Commonwealth Avenue Mall (from Arlington Street to Fairfield Street) as The Great Elephant Migration arrives in Boston.

Keep your eyes open as retailers, hotels, cultural institutions, and businesses throughout Back Bay "adopt" elephants, creating a city-wide public art experience unlike anything Boston has seen before.

Handcrafted by Indigenous artisans from South India, each elephant tells a story of coexistence, conservation, and the connection between people, wildlife, and the natural world. Together, the installation aims to activate public spaces, support local businesses, and create an unforgettable cultural moment during the summer season.

The Copley Society of Art invites visitors to experience Resonance of the Ordinary, a new group exhibition featuring Artist Members Paul Beckingham, Kristen Nyberg, and Deborah Schlossman.

On view August 13 – September 12, this thoughtful exhibition celebrates the beauty found in everyday life through realist still life paintings that explore memory, perception, light, and the quiet poetry of ordinary objects.

Galerie d'Orsay invites visitors to experience "Authentic," a powerful new exhibition by internationally acclaimed graffiti artist SEN-1, opening July 9 at 33 Newbury Street.

Blending vibrant color, layered textures, and deeply personal storytelling, Authentic explores themes of identity, resilience, and the journey toward living truthfully. Drawing from his roots in graffiti and street culture, SEN-1's latest collection reflects on hardship, hope, and the transformative power of creative expression.

Boston Gov is excited to share that Open Newbury Street will return for its 10th season this summer! ☀️

Open Newbury will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., July through October:

🗓️ July 12, July 19, and July 26
🗓️ August 2, August 9, and August 23
🗓️ September 6, September 13, and September 20
🗓️ October 11
🎁 An additional date in December will be announced at a later date in coordination with holiday activities

All businesses are encouraged to take part in Open Newbury Street by activating their outdoor spaces. To participate as a business, you must have a brick-and-mortar location on Newbury Street.

Copley Society of Art invites visitors to experience Intersections, its 2026 Juried National Show, on view from July 9 through August 8 at 158 Newbury Street. 🎨

Juried by Almitra Stanley, Director of Boston Sculptors Gallery, Intersections showcases artists from across the country whose work reflects the dynamic spaces where differences interact and new perspectives emerge.
