At least 25,000 Palestinian children in Gaza have lost one or both parents as the result of the Israeli military’s genocidal war on all life in Gaza. These children, while grieving, are forced to continually move from one “safe zone” to another, all while under constant bombardment and attack from the Israeli military.
Half of Gaza is now starving. According to the UN’s World Food Programme, 9 out of 10 Palestinians living in northern Gaza are not eating every day. No bakery has been operational in northern Gaza for over a month, and many Palestinians are forced to eat spoiled food or go without food entirely. These are the intended results of the Israeli military’s genocidal campaign on life in Gaza.
Last week, we shared that 80% of Palestinians living in Gaza were displaced by the Israeli military’s constant bombardment. In just a week, that percentage has risen to 90%. The Israeli military is accelerating its ethnic cleansing of besieged Gaza. This horrific violence is only possible with the aid and support of the United States.
The Israeli military is continuing its ruthless targeting of Palestinian journalists, some of the only voices who can document the reality of life under the Israeli military’s genocide and 16 year-long air, land, and sea blockade of Gaza. In the past two months, the Israeli military has targeted and killed over 60 Palestinian journalists and their families.
Make no mistake, the only war the Israeli military is waging is against Palestinian life. This is why, in addition to a permanent ceasefire, we’re calling for an end to the illegal and violent occupation of all Palestinian land. We’re building a world beyond Zionism and occupation, where every human life is respected, safe, and free.
