The Community Center - TCC Proudly Serving the Treasure Valley LGBTQIA+ community since 1983. TCC is a non-profit 501(C) 3 organization that has been serving the community since 1983.

The Community Center is a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ and allied organizations and individuals in the Treasure Valley. We help q***r folks find belonging and community by providing fun and meaningful events and support groups at our facility and beyond. And we help inform folks about other local LGBTQIA+ events and resources, run a q***r lending library with over 3,600 titles, and run a food pantry for community members experiencing food insecurity.

For May, the LGBTQIA+ book club read Thousand Autumns, Vol 1. This book introduced many of us to a new genre (Danmei/Wuxia), Chinese BL (Boys Love) fantasy with martial arts. Our group enjoyed reading something we wouldnā€™t have just picked off the shelf. For folks not familiar with the genre, it was somewhat challenging to follow the sects and politics of the different groups. The writing style was also a bit repetitive, and there were a lot of footnotes which some readers found distracting. Those familiar with the genre suggested other titles that they thought would be a better introduction. Overall our group gave this 2.5 stars.

Join us in-person next month for A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers. And since itā€™s Pride month, weā€™ll do our annual potluck, so feel free to bring a dish to share. We look forward to seeing you there!
