LEAP Housing is an Idaho-based nonprofit organization building toward a future where hardworking Idahoans can afford to buy or rent in the community they call home. Our goal is to create 1,000 affordable housing opportunities in Idaho by 2026, including offering homeownership and rental options, as well as preserving existing homes, all tailored to match local wages. LEAP was named ‘Most Talented Nonprofit’ in 2023 by the Idaho Nonprofit Center.

Sycamore Commons just opened in the Collister neighborhood and it is honestly a really lovely spot. Modern apartments, utilities included, maintenance handled, walkable to shopping and dining, and priced affordably for people who qualify.

Spots are already going fast, so the sooner they reach out the better.

We are thrilled to announce we just signed our first lease at Sycamore Commons!

The team just so happened to be doing a little manual labor and beautification before the event, and were able to swing by the leasing office to snag a photo with our first renter!

The official Ribbon Cutting is Tuesday, June 2nd, at 9:30am, but we're already off to the races.

If you didn't already know, this project provides over 50 homes to seniors in the heart of Boise. We can't in Idaho unless we do it together. Thank you for joining with us, supporting us, and being part of the journey!

We are throwing open the doors at Sycamore Commons and we want you there.
June 2nd is the big day. Mayor Lauren McLean is joining us for the ribbon cutting, and from there it is an open house all day long. Come take a tour, see the space, and if you or someone you know is looking for a place to land, staff will be on site to help you apply right then and there.

It is 55+ affordable living in one of the best spots in Boise, right next to Caffeina, Stella's Ice Cream, and the Boise Public Library. Honestly, not a bad neighborhood to call home.

We are still riding high after our recent Ribbon Cutting / Open House at Falcons Landing in Mountain Home. This kicks off the completion of Phase 2, adding 30 new affordable homes to Mountain Home, for hard-working Idaho families and individuals needing stable rent, and consistent housing.

"MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho — Mountain Home's first new affordable housing development in more than 20 years just completed its second phase, adding 30 new rental units to the area.

Falcons Landing was built by LEAP Housing, a nonprofit focused on affordable housing. The property is managed by Syringa Property Management, which now offers a total of 98 affordable rental and homeownership options for a range of income levels.

Brian Woodward, COO of LEAP Housing, said the project was driven by a gap between wages and housing costs."

We're thrilled to share some of the highlights from our Ribbon Cutting / Open House at Falcons Landing Phase 2. The completion of this project was only made possible through the support of the Mayor of Mountain Home Rich Sykes, the Mountain Home City Council, the Chamber of Commerce, and so many other people who rallied around us, and made it happen.

The grand opening of Phase 2 has now provided 30 more affordable homes in Mountain Home, which is a huge win for those Idaho families and individuals struggling to maintain consistent housing.

We were grateful to have Mayor Rich Sykes there to speak, and wanted to share some of what he had to say about this project:

"It's about creating a foundation where families can thrive, where children can grow, and hardworking individuals can live without the constant pressure of rising housing costs."

We couldn't agree more. There's so much more to share, but thank you for supporting us as we continue to make Idaho affordable, and together.

This month, we're featuring Kat Lange as our team member of the month. Kat is a fantastic addition to the LEAP team, and runs all things numbers and accounting. As our Senior Accountant, we lean on her experience and expertise as we navigate the complexities of affordable housing together.

"I manage the daily finances of the organization and help strengthen the financial foundation that supports our long term impact.

As a team we work hard to ensure funds received are managed responsibly, legally and ethically, so we can help as many people as possible find an affordable space they can call home."

This month, we asked Kat what Homefullness means to her:

"Homefulness can be a quiet comfort that has a way of embedding itself into everyday life that you may not realize its impact. Homefulness is often recognized through its absence. Experiencing home insecurity, continuous rent increases, or moving neighborhoods or even cities for cost of living. After months or years of this cycle, when you finally enter a stable, dignified home, a comfort envelops you and years of stress begin to subside with a full body exhale. This is the experience of homefulness."

Thank you so much for your support during this year!

We can't continue to build, maintain, and support affordable housing without your help. By giving to LEAP, you're helping the communities that grow out of our developments truly thrive. We care about end-to-end housing, which includes providing long-term, sustainable support for homebuyers, renters, working families, and seniors.

We want Idaho's teachers, nurses, veterans, and neighbors to have housing they can afford, full stop. Idaho is an amazing place to call home, and we're not ready for people to be priced out. People working full time should have the ability to buy and own a home.

The problem is real, but the solution exists. Thank you for helping us continue forward along our mission and journey to make Idaho even better than it is now, and bring about a future for all of us, where we can rent and own homes that are safe, affordable, and help build the communities we want to be a part of for years to come.

Last day! Idaho Gives 2026 closes at midnight and we want to finish strong.

Not too long ago, LEAP Housing was a new idea. A response to a growing problem that not enough people were talking about

Today the homes are built and people are living in them. We have apartment communities, workforce housing, and senior housing coming online this summer. And we are finding our way into every corner of Idaho, from Mountain Home to Priest River to Boise and beyond.

It is pretty cool to watch an idea become reality and begin to build thriving communities. We're so grateful for your support!

This one gets us every time.

She and her husband Jonah moved 8 times in 10 years. Eight moves. Two kids just trying to feel at home somewhere. Every year, starting over.

Then they found LEAP Housing. Now, two and a half years into owning their home, the kids are building real friendships. She and Jonah are both working full time for the first time in years. And that constant, heavy stress of not knowing where they would live next?

Gone.

That is what this is really about. A stable home changes everything.
