ATTN BOISE WRITERS! You’re invited to attend the Flight School: Writer’s Conference on November 7 from 11AM to 2PM at The Common Well.

We created the Flight School: Writing Conference as a resource for developing writers in the Treasure Valley. This conference will be a welcoming, creative space for writers to gather and share work, as well as develop and hone their craft. As with our upcoming publication Flight School, our goal is to help writers learn more about the writing and publication process.

A $17 conference ticket includes:
- Generative writing workshop with joplin.morgan
- Revisions workshop with Alan Heathcock
- Free professional headshot photo by Jackson Thieme (taken during the conference)
- Handmade journal created by our sponsor Katie May • Other Lovings
- Writing advice zine compiled by Paper Plane Editor Susan Lasater

It’s the end of an era — Paper Plane editors .hunterrr and are officially retiring from their posts following the launch of Volume 4. Sophia and Blake have been incredible leaders within Backyard Artists, establishing Paper Plane in 2024. From concept to publication to event coordination, these two have created and curated an unforgettable anthology. We are so proud of the incredible work they have done and the stamp they have left on the local literature scene.

Sophia and Blake, you have been such a dream team. Thank you for opening doors for so many new writers and lifting up talented voices in our community. You had a vision and you made it happen — and Boise is better because of it! Backyard Artists is forever grateful to the both of you! And we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish next.

After Volume 4, Paper Plane will continue under the direction of two new trusted and talented editors! We’re excited to see how they will carry this project forward. Join us on Saturday to hear more about our new editors!
