Join us for the launch of Paper Plane Press Volume 4 at .

This year, we’re kicking the event off with a Social Hour! Attendees can mix and mingle with writers and artists in the community while enjoying food and beverages.

Small plates will be provided by . Coffee and drinks will be available for purchase from .

This event will be seated and held outdoors. The Bishop’s House lawn area is partially shaded. However, we anticipate very warm weather so please plan accordingly.

Join us for a summer evening of creativity and community at Winstead Park. We’re cohosting this Show and Tell with the Library to create a space for all types of creatives to share their work. Come share an art project, a craft, a written piece, something you’re proud of, or even a work in progress!

If you don’t want to share, join us while we learn more about the art happening in our community! Make friends, socialize with creatives, get inspired, and enjoy a fun evening together. Can’t wait to see you there!

NOTE: This event will be hosted outdoors on the grass! We encourage everyone to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

Introducing:)

‘Funny Girl’

“Funny Girl, quite frankly, makes me happy. The sweeping, wiggling, warm movement of the paint makes my heart beat faster, my cells tingle. This piece took several days to produce; patiently layering stroke after stroke, allowing space between the layers without forcing movement. Each time I returned felt joyful, easeful, exploratory, and when Funny Girl was finished, she told me. Not every painting is so communicative!”

Introducing ‘Tee Time’

Tee Time

“This piece is inspired by golf course blueprints, and by my father’s avid, earnest, continuing love of golf. Often he will call me from his favorite course in Northern California, peacefully walking the front nine, meandering amongst tall green pines and fresh green putting greens, and when our call ends he listens to Enya and allows the gentle breeze and the fall of evening to enchant him and enhance his strokes. This painting is for him.”

‘In Between Islands’

“This piece was inspired by liminal space, by the spaces between things. Often, when making the transition from one state to another, we can feel such fear, such a bottoming out sense that the next phase will never appear; yet it always does, and is often just on the other side of relaxing into the release, the unknown. And so we move, from iteration to iteration, island to island.”

TrkHaus is Boise’s new premier indoor golf training facility who wants to see Boise’s arts and culture scene flourish. BYA is honored to partner with this business.

Jane Harvey’s ( ) work meshes a zooming in and out of our world, utilizing color to draw your eye to various regions of the canvas.
