What an incredible two days!
More than 200 attendees from across Alabama came together for AHEC's Teaching the Holocaust Conference, learning from an incredible group of national and local scholars and experts dedicated to helping teachers bring this important history into their classrooms with confidence, accuracy, and purpose.
As Alabama prepares to implement the nation's most robust Holocaust education standards, these educators are leading the way. They spent two days exploring history, pedagogy, primary sources, Survivor testimony, resistance, rescue, and the enduring lessons of the Holocaust. The impact of their work will reach thousands of students across our state in the years ahead.
We are deeply grateful to every speaker, volunteer, partner, and attendee who made this conference possible. Most of all, thank you to the educators who chose to spend the start of their summer investing in this work. The future of Holocaust education in Alabama is brighter because of you.
