The purpose of the Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries (ABCH) is to protect, nurture, and restore children and families through Christ-centered services. Our offices are in Auburn-Opelika, Birmingham, Dothan, Decatur, Mobile, Montgomery, and Oxford.

“I really, really love them.” That's Carlos talking about his ABCH foster parents who welcomed him into their home. At 16, Carlos faced an uncertain future after coming to America with his younger brothers. Foster care gave him a safe place to land, and Tiffany and Bobby became a family he still loves and sees regularly. Today, he's 19 and pursuing a nursing degree. As believers, we are called to bear burdens with our brothers and sisters. Foster care isn’t meant to be done alone. Asking for help not only supports you, but it gives your community a way to serve you. We’re thankful for our ABCH foster parents and the people who come alongside them.

Foster care can be tiring. There are appointments, paperwork, hard conversations and plenty of unexpected moments. But faithfulness matters. We’re thankful for our ABCH foster parents who continue showing up and doing the work, especially on the hard days.

Days are hard, goodbyes hurt, and many moments don’t go the way you’d hoped. None of that means you’re failing. The love, patience, and consistency you give a child matter, even if you can't see the result right away.
