Happy Independence Day! While Civitan International has grown to serve communities across the globe, we proudly trace our foundational values of service and leadership back to our 1917 founding in Birmingham, Alabama (USA).

This 4th of July, we join in the national celebration, inspired by the 'America 250' milestone. May the values of liberty, courage, and hope continue to guide us all in making a positive impact, no matter where we serve.

As we look ahead to America’s 250th birthday, we want to give a massive shout-out to our incredible clubs honoring this milestone the best way we know how: through service! 🇺🇸✨

As featured in this photo, Civitans are making a difference across the nation. In Idaho, members proudly joined a statewide initiative to hit a massive goal of 250,000 collective acts of intentional service. Meanwhile, the Plymouth-Canton Civitan Club welcomed new members with plenty of red, white, and blue flair at their 54th Anniversary party, and the Triangle Luncheon Civitan Club collected 250 individual food items for veterans in North Carolina.

Thank you to the Civitan Club of Idaho Falls, Inc., the Plymouth-Canton Civitan Club, the Triangle Luncheon Civitan Club, and the countless other clubs celebrating with hands-on service! 🛠️❤️

TODAY IN HISTORY - On July 1, 1974, we became the first major service organization to welcome women as members. Today, we celebrate the trailblazers like Polly Forestier, our first female International President and every woman who continues to make an impact in her community.
