We teamed up with GIGA Futures, Live Green USA, and Agritecture for — riffing on Netflix’s new (starring 🌱) and why getting your hands in the soil is the real revolution. 💪
A few things worth sitting with:
🏞️ The Missouri River — America’s longest — feeds ecosystems AND supplies ~80% of the concrete sand in the state. Rivers are nature and infrastructure.
💧 12 of the 17 most water-stressed countries on Earth are in the Middle East and North Africa. The climate-smart farming system coming out of the region is a template we’ll all need.
❤️🩹 Biophilic design isn’t decoration. Patients who view nature heal measurably faster. Workers near gardens perform better. Gardens are medicine and economics.
⚠️ Urban soil is usually contaminated. Bring in clean soil. Build raised beds. Watch for innovations like soil microtesting kits and plants engineered to reject heavy metals.
💚 Abundance is on the other side of showing up. Henry’s parents built 12 raised beds and two greenhouses in the Czech countryside from nothing, more food than they could eat.
The bottom line: just start. A seed. Some dirt. A south-facing window.
Culture is the lever. A Netflix series pulling kids into the mud shapes the next generation more than most white papers ever will.
Happy Earth Day, everyday! 🌍
