We teamed up with GIGA Futures, Live Green USA, and Agritecture for — riffing on Netflix’s new (starring 🌱) and why getting your hands in the soil is the real revolution. 💪

A few things worth sitting with:

🏞️ The Missouri River — America’s longest — feeds ecosystems AND supplies ~80% of the concrete sand in the state. Rivers are nature and infrastructure.

💧 12 of the 17 most water-stressed countries on Earth are in the Middle East and North Africa. The climate-smart farming system coming out of the region is a template we’ll all need.

❤️‍🩹 Biophilic design isn’t decoration. Patients who view nature heal measurably faster. Workers near gardens perform better. Gardens are medicine and economics.

⚠️ Urban soil is usually contaminated. Bring in clean soil. Build raised beds. Watch for innovations like soil microtesting kits and plants engineered to reject heavy metals.

💚 Abundance is on the other side of showing up. Henry’s parents built 12 raised beds and two greenhouses in the Czech countryside from nothing, more food than they could eat.

The bottom line: just start. A seed. Some dirt. A south-facing window.

Culture is the lever. A Netflix series pulling kids into the mud shapes the next generation more than most white papers ever will.

Happy Earth Day, everyday! 🌍

HAPPY EARTH DAY! 🌎 🌱

Don't forget to join us today on Instagram Live () at 2 pm CET for our Earth Day reunion and meetup for TFF alums, friends, and fans.

We'll be joined by our Founder Christine R Gould and the superheroes from our community, Henry Gordon-Smith, Olivia English - and some special surprise appearances too! You know some great discussions, laughs, and (of course) dancing are in store!

We'll talk about the new Netflix series "This is a Gardening Show" () starring Zach Galifianakis that launches today. Described as an "oddball celebration of the food we eat," it sounds right up our alley!

For now, we invite you to take a moment to watch this incredible poem by . It's an ode to Mother Earth and the unique multispectral vibes that TFF brought to the world, which we shared on Earth Day 2022 when we launched our final TFF Global Challenge. 🤩 All the FEELS!

P.s. Watch this space - we'll be sharing more from TFF's memory box throughout the day. SEE YOU LATER 💚

Honoring our beloved TFFer George “AGRIman” Ceasar:
A real-life superhero in food systems

We received the heartbreaking news that George Ceasar - known to so many around the world as AGRIman - has passed.

If you ever met George, you know this: He didn’t just play a superhero. He embodied one in everything he did.

AGRIman was a movement - brought to life through the vision of and through George’s spirit, humor, humility, and unwavering belief that young people can transform agriculture and, with it, the planet. 💚

For years, he stood side-by-side with Alpha and as the heartbeat of in Trinidad & Tobago to do something revolutionary:

They made agriculture aspirational.
They made it joyful.
They made it COOL for kids to care about how food grows.

Many of you will remember George’s unforgettable appearances at our Thought For Food Summits and in our ‘TFF Challenge Global Finale’ Livestream in 2020 - where he burst onto screens with pure energy, lighting up thousands of people watching from every corner of the world.

George’s passing is an enormous loss for the industry and the world. He entertained. He activated. He inspired and has made profound impact that lives on through:

- the children who first learned about farming through AGRIman
- the youth who have chosen a career in agriculture because he made it feel heroic
- the global audiences he reached and welcomed with open arms
- and the community he helped build, rooted in creativity, culture, and hope

Below is a short video of our work together, showing the extraordinary joy he brought to everyone he met.

Please keep his family, friends, loved ones, and especially Alpha and the WHYFARM team, in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you, George, for showing us what it looks like to lead with heart, passion, and purpose. Your legacy will continue to fuel the future we are building.

Rest in power, dear AGRIman 💪

📢 *Introducing: *WTF: Where’s The Farmer?™️* – Episode 1 is here!* 🎥

From Mexico 🇲🇽 to Saudi 🇸🇦; from Norway 🇳🇴 to Canada 🇨🇦, from Sweden 🇸🇪 to Argentina 🇦🇷 to Spain🇪🇸 and many countries in between, TFF Founder (Christine R Gould) grabbed a front-row seat to solutions being built and the unique realities of farming systems they aim to serve. These experiences have inspired us to launch a new video series to bring you along with us on this journey of discovery.

This series dives into the solutions being built from the ground up to tackle agriculture’s biggest challenges. These aren’t just incremental changes—these represent giga-opportunities that can transform how we nourish the planet - and they need our support to scale! 💪

🌟 In Episode 1, we head to Norway to meet two teams at the AgriTech Nordic:

🚜 AutoAgri : Revolutionizing tractors to be fully autonomous, electric & with bespoke designs that minimize soil compaction.

🐑 Woolero: Giving waste streams a second life as a super-sustainable soil amendment and biomaterial.

(We hope you enjoy the cheesy jingle we made thanks to 🤖 😉)

Did you know that one-third of produced for human consumption is wasted or lost every single year? That’s around 1.3 billion tons of food, valued at over a trillion dollars! 😲

At TFF's , we heard from Tyler Simmons, who was representing the startup Too Good To Go and Maxfield Kaniger, CEO of Kanbe's Markets, to discover how they're fighting to improve and environmental . 🍏💪

📲 Too Good To Go’s app connects consumers to businesses to buy surplus food at a discount. Besides saving edible foods from ending up in the trash, Too Good To Go is helping increase awareness about food waste - just check out Tiktok and Reddit for customer videos of themselves unboxing their TGTG "surprise bags."

🌽 Kanbe's Markets is a non-profit in Kansas City that redirects surplus and imperfect produce to people in need. Based on the foods available and level of quality, they provide it to local convenience stores and grocers, food donation organizations, or to composting and animal feed service providers. In 2022 alone, Kanbe's saved over 500,000 lbs of produce from ending up in landfills!
