Their return was marked by authentic disappointment from their adopter. Nighttime romping and play activities drew criticism from below-residing neighbors citing excessive commotion. They now occupy a cat condo in anticipation of a suitable foster placement, their prior foster family being in the midst of relocation and thus unable to welcome them back. This circumstance brings to the forefront the quandary of problematic neighbors and the pressing need for enhanced soundproofing and more expansive living quarters. Who can foster them? They want to play and are tired of being cooped up.

🐾 Whatcom Feline Alliance Stands with Dr. Sullivan and Bellingham Veterinary 🐾

We’re going to speak plainly. We are not speaking from a distance. We are speaking from direct experience. Thousands of cases.

Our relationship with Dr. Sullivan and Bellingham Veterinary didn’t start through a referral or a formal partnership—it started in a moment of desperation.

We found a cat that had been hit by a car. No plan. No appointment. No guarantee anyone would help.

We showed up at their door anyway.

They opened it.

They took him in without hesitation. No Barriers. Just action.

That moment told us everything we needed to know.

There is something fundamentally different about that clinic. You ring the bell, and it doesn’t feel like entering a business—it feels like entering a place where the only question that matters is how can an animal can be helped.

Time doesn’t seem to exist there in the normal sense—because the work never stops.

Dr. Sullivan just keeps going. We thought we held a strong work ethic. That man has the fortitude of God behind him.

Seven days a week. Nights. Weekends. Holidays. You name it.

We have lost count of how many times it’s been late, or a Sunday, or a holiday weekend, and something has gone wrong. You make that call feeling awful for even asking…

…and he or a member of his team answers.

Every time. āœ”ļø šŸ‘Š

And when you hang up, the only thought is: thank God someone is still willing to show up for this animal.

That level of dedication is RARE.

It’s not transactional. It’s not convenient. It’s not profit-driven.

It’s commitment—on a level that most people will never fully understand.

In a rescue world that can often feel limited by funding, policies, and hard lines, this clinic has been an oasis in the desert:

An outlet. A refuge. An option when there are no other options.

We didn’t just ā€œchooseā€ this clinic.

We gravitated toward it—because the work we do naturally led us to the one place that consistently says yes when others can’t or won’t.

And over time, Dr. Sullivan has been more than a veterinarian. He’s been a problem-solver, a mentor, and someone who meets people where they are—whether they’re seasoned in rescue or just trying to save one life.

Most systems have limits. Most clinics have boundaries. Most care is dictated by cost, capacity, or policy.

This clinic has consistently pushed past those limits to make sure animals don’t fall through the cracks!!!

This one shows up.

Relentlessly.

If this clinic were to disappear, the impact would not be abstract or theortetical—it would be immediate and real. Fewer animals treated. Fewer rescues able to say yes. More suffering that could have been prevented. We would close our doors as well. We would have no choice.

That’s the reality. That is the reality—whether people want to acknowledge it or not.

So we are asking our community to speak UP!

If Dr. Sullivan or Bellingham Veterinary has helped you, your animal, or your work—tell that story.

Because those stories matter right now.

We are collecting these stories to ensure the full picture of this clinic is seen and understood —not just in headlines or allegations, but in the lives that have been saved because someone chose to keep showing up.

Please stand with us.

LOVE2HOPE STANDS WITH DR. SULLIVAN & BELLINGHAM VETERINARY 🐾

Recent allegations involving Dr. Sullivan and Bellingham Veterinary Clinic have generated concern within our community. As an organization that works directly with vulnerable pet owners and their companion animals, Love2Hope believes it is important to share our firsthand experiences and the profound impact this clinic has had on countless animals, families, and members of our community throughout Whatcom County.

For many years, Bellingham Veterinary Clinic has been an invaluable partner to Love2Hope and many others in our community. Through our work with unhoused individuals, very low-income families, and their companion pets, we have witnessed the positive impact Dr. Sullivan and his team have had on countless animals and the people who love them.

ā¤ļø They have provided discounted and, at times, free veterinary care to animals whose owners could not otherwise afford treatment.

ā¤ļø They have helped countless unhoused individuals and low-income families keep their beloved pets healthy and safe.

ā¤ļø Dr. Sullivan has worked with pet owners facing financial hardship and has helped make veterinary care more accessible for those who had few other options.

ā¤ļø He has answered after-hours calls, accommodated emergencies, and stepped in when other options were unavailable.

ā¤ļø Time and time again, we have witnessed Dr. Sullivan make extraordinary efforts to ensure animals receive the care they need, even when financial circumstances created significant challenges.

We have seen animals receive care when their owners had nowhere else to turn. We have seen families stay together with their beloved pets because affordable treatment was available. We have seen compassion extended to people facing some of the most difficult circumstances of their lives.

In our experience, Dr. Sullivan has consistently demonstrated a commitment to helping animals and supporting vulnerable pet owners. His willingness to work with rescues, nonprofits, unhoused individuals, and low-income families has helped many animals receive care that might not otherwise have been possible.

The reality is that affordable and accessible veterinary care is essential to the well-being of both animals and our community. Organizations like Love2Hope depend on veterinary partners who are willing to help animals whose owners face significant financial challenges.

Today, we invite members of our community to share their own experiences.

If Dr. Sullivan or Bellingham Veterinary Clinic has helped your pet, your family, your rescue organization, or someone you know, please share your story in the comments. We would like to collect these stories and ensure that the many positive experiences within our community are also heard.

🐾 Happy Tails Happy Homes Stands with Dr. Sullivan and Bellingham Veterinary 🐾

As an organization that works every day to save the lives of animals in our community, we feel compelled to speak up in support of Dr. Sullivan and Bellingham Veterinary due to recent allegations.

Recent allegations made against Dr. Sullivan and Bellingham Veterinary have raised concerns throughout our rescue community. While these remain allegations, we believe it is important to share our own experiences and the impact this clinic has had on countless animals and families in Whatcom County.

Bellingham Veterinary has been one of the most important partners our rescue has ever had.

ā¤ļø They have provided deeply discounted and, at times, free veterinary care to help rescue animals receive the treatment they desperately need.

ā¤ļø Without Bellingham Veterinary, our rescue simply could not operate at the same capacity or save as many lives as we do today.

ā¤ļø We can pull medical cases from shelters, help owners with spays and neuters and veterinary expenses because of Bellingham Veterinary.

ā¤ļø They have consistently cared for animals belonging to unhoused community members and low-income families who otherwise would have nowhere to turn.

ā¤ļø Dr. Sullivan offers payment plans that are not based on credit approval, making veterinary care accessible to people who may not qualify elsewhere.

ā¤ļø Time and time again, we have watched this clinic prioritize the well-being of animals over financial considerations, helping families facing difficult circumstances.

ā¤ļø Dr. Sullivan answers calls after hours, takes emergency cases, and steps in when other clinics are unable to accommodate appointments or when owners are struggling financially.

ā¤ļø He stays late, comes in early, works weekends, and does everything he can to help animals in need.

The reality is that if Bellingham Veterinary were no longer available to our community, many animals would lose access to care. Rescue organizations, low-income families, and vulnerable pet owners would be left with fewer options, and animals would suffer as a result.

Today, we are asking our community to share your stories.

If Dr. Sullivan or Bellingham Veterinary has helped your pet, your family, your rescue, or someone you know, please tell that story. If you have witnessed the compassion, generosity, and dedication of this clinic, we encourage you to share your experience.

We want to collect as many stories as possible about the impactful work of Dr. Sullivan and Bellingham Veterinary in one place so they can be shared with Dr. Sullivan and his legal team. Every story matters and helps demonstrate the positive difference this clinic has made in our community.

We have hundreds of stories of lives saved, families supported, and animals given a second chance because of the work done at Bellingham Veterinary. We will be sharing those stories, and we invite others to do the same.

Our community deserves to hear from the people whose lives and animals have been directly impacted.

Please help us in this fight. Our community cannot afford to suffer the loss of such a pivotal veterinary clinic. Please join us in showing support for Dr. Sullivan, the staff at Bellingham Veterinary, and the many animals whose lives have been changed because they were willing to help when no one else could.

The animals don’t know who is right.
They don’t know who is wrong.
They don’t know who gets the credit.

They only know they are hungry.
They only know they are cold.
They only know they are waiting.

While people argue, the animals are still waiting.

Let’s never forget why we started.
