The Mental Health Benefits of Getting Outdoors
Spending time outdoors can work wonders for our mental well-being. Nature has a way of reminding us that we are part of something bigger, helping us step out of our own minds.
Not only does getting outdoors provide mental relaxation and rejuvenation, but it has also been proven to boost memory, focus, self-control, and creativity. In children, this has even translated to improved academic performance.

National Minority Health Month

We are proud to recognize and observe April as National Minority Health Month and Arab American Heritage Month by raising awareness and supporting improved access to integrated health services for marginalized communities.
In addition to continually facing significant barriers to receive equitable physical health, mental health and substance use treatment services, individuals from marginalized communities experience higher rates of chronic disease and premature death than their White counterparts.
Integrated and equitable health care services can address the diverse and unique needs of marginalized communities in a culturally responsive way. Check out this interactive toolkit for the resources you need to help your organization address racial inequities and the associated stigmas that lead to mental health and substance use treatment disparities: https://www.thenationalcouncil.org/resources/integrated-health-coe-toolkit-purpose-of-this-toolkit/?mkt_tok=NzczLU1KRi0zNzkAAAGNLJst9rZF34gx6rciIIVYxZZA1EpNgz0pNj2hSrYZBp8m_rbyrG7E07gTJtZE4G2aFuK004DeGTVYOJTrte7mKRtbfRGtm6z8siSl2Ux8AHI
