College Success Foundation recently hosted its first-ever AI prompt-a-thon (think “hack-a-thon”) in collaboration with Campus Evolve at Highline High School and Port Angeles High School!💻

More than 50 students participated in hands-on activities designed to test and improve a new AI-powered college and career navigation tool that is being piloted alongside CSF advisors this spring. By providing direct feedback and exploring real-world use cases, students helped shape a tool designed to better support their postsecondary planning and career exploration.

Access creates opportunity. 🎓

CSF Scholars from Yakima recently visited Bungie to explore careers in gaming and technology, gaining firsthand insight into pathways they can pursue after high school and college.

Career exploration is a critical part of helping students see what’s possible for their futures. Through partnerships like this, CSF advisors work alongside schools and our industry partners to create meaningful, memorable experiences outside of the classroom that connect learning to real-world opportunities.

Anyone wanna grab a cup of coffee?☕

Sometimes the most meaningful support happens outside of formal meetings. By creating a casual, student-centered space, CSF Coach Liz connects with students during her Coffee with Coach gatherings. She recently met up with students from Western Washington University. Conversations with students ranged from classes and campus involvement to end-of-quarter activities and summer plans.

CSF Coaches know that showing up for students helps strengthen their sense of belonging and keeps them connected to their goals and to each other. 💙💛❤️

Recently, at Tacoma Community College, more than 70 students and family members attended an evening filled with learning and connection. Families heard from a student panel featuring current TCC students, gained insights through an admissions presentation, and participated in guided campus tours. Together, they explored programs, financial aid, support services, and what the community college pathway can offer.

This spring, Tacoma Public Schools students and their families are visiting local college campuses together and learning about everything from admissions and financial aid to academic programs and student life. These College Tours for Families, hosted in partnership with the College Success Foundation, are designed to help families better understand their options and navigate the path to college together.

So far, families have visited:

🏫 Clover Park Technical College
🏫 Tacoma Community College

College Success Foundation Scholars from across the Peninsula spent a full day on the University of Washington campus exploring medical careers through their Doctor for a Day program. Students from Neah Bay, Clallam Bay, Quileute Tribal, Port Angeles, and Port Townsend dove into hands-on learning at UW’s health sciences facilities, with this year’s focus on reproductive health.

A special thank you to the Doctor for a Day organizers and Dr. Estell Williams for making this experience possible. We’re grateful for our partnership and for this annual opportunity for our students.
