Our speaker will be Cloe Zeng , who will share stories from her journey through business leadership, community service , parenting, and her work with the Gottman Institute. She will be speaking on the power of small moments, relationships , leadership and service. You won't want to miss this delightful and impactful discussion. Join us on Tuesday , September 8th at noon , at the Issaquah school district administration building.

Tonight (Tuesday, August 24) we will be at the final Concerts on The Green collecting food donations for the Issaquah Food Bank. Last week we collected 348lbs of food, or about 290 meals!

Members and friends who want to volunteer in this effort, please arrive between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m., our collection efforts will continue until 7 pm when the concert starts.

This project is not just part of our service to the Issaquah community, it also counts toward our "50 in 50" service project challenge, where in celebration of Issaquah Rotary's 50th anniversary, we are working to accomplish 50 service projects this year! Less than 2 months into it, and we have already collectively completed 14 service projects.

Service Above Self is more than just a motto, it is a commitment we make to each other and our community, and we can't think of a better way to commemorate 50 years of Issaquah Rotary this year. Keep up the good work!

Our speaker on Tuesday is a remarkable young leader who founded LakeSafe Initiative. Mudra Machewad just graduated from Skyline High School, and was inspired to do something to reduce open water drownings in Lake Sammamish, and other area lakes. Mudra has spent the last 6 years building and contributing to youth-led community initiatives and advocacy through her work with Influence the Choice, TECH program, and Key Club. She was recently awarded the Influence the Choice Youth Leadership Award, and the Kiwanis Human and Spiritual Values Award at the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce Awards. Don't miss this engaging young woman!

Reminder, our meeting on Tuesday, August 25th at 12:30 will be held in the Eagles Club basement. (When you come in the back door, turn left and go downstairs. Parking is available in the rear of the building, including in the gravel fenced-in lot across the street in the rear.

This summer, generous concert goers have donated 418 lbs of food for the Issaquah Food Bank… & counting!

With just 2 Concerts On The Green remaining, we’re setting a big goal! Let’s DOUBLE it! 💪🏼

All non-expired non-perishables are welcome, but here are a few suggestions that the food bank needs at the moment…

- Feminine Products

A Dancing Queen line dance! OK fellow Rotarians, we are being challenged by President Claud to dance on Tuesday night! This routine from 'Never Stop Dancing' is straightforward and so we are challenging you to learn it, and let's dance it on Tuesday evening when this song comes up (and it WILL come up). (Pro tip; you might want to just watch the dance video through before or as an alternative to this step-by-step tutorial. When you see how the movements go with the verses/choruses/lyrics it might come easier.

Instead of our regular meeting on Tuesday, August 18th, we will be holding a Club Social on the lawn at Concerts on the Green. Wear your Rotary gear!

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and settle in by our big blue Rotary canopy and enjoy the sounds of ABBAgraphs. We plan to arrive around 5pm to set up the tent for food collection, and the concert begins at 7pm.

As part of our ongoing service project benefiting the Issaquah Food Bank, we will be collecting donations of non-perishable food and diapers. Please bring a donation and see if we can break our record for number of pounds of food collected.
