Master Chorus Eastside

Hello, MCE Singers.
If you're looking for a fun time singing great music this weekend,
this is a wonderful opportunity.

Just a friendly reminder that the Big Sing 2026 is in just a few weeks! See details below!

Big Sing 2026, an evening of choral classics on October 17, 2026 at 5pm at Seattle First Baptist Church! This year's format will be slightly different than years past: instead of one major work, we'll sing through a variety of choral classics paired with contemporaneous works by under-represented and overlooked composers. If you like Palestrina's Sicut cervus, try Vicente Lusitano's Emendemus in melius! We'll also reprise festival anthem commissions from previous Seattle Sings events. Digital music will be provided in advance, and a limited number of paper copies will be available on site.
We hope it will be enriching for singers and conductors alike, where people can come sing the music they love and music they don't yet know they love. Join us afterwards at Stoup Brewing to share social time and a variety of beverages (including N/A options)!

Who would have known, when we sang this in our last concert, that the words would be so poignant now?

There’s a moment in every concert that never gets old for me.

It’s not the final chord. It’s not the applause.

It’s that instant just before the first breath the group takes together. Singers and audience in the same room, all leaning into the same moment. For me, concerts have very little to do with performing and everything to do with connecting—singers to the music, to each other, and to the audience, in the hope that the music connects with them.

That’s choral music at its best. Connection.

At Master Chorus Eastside, we’re not just preparing notes and rhythms. We’re building something that only exists when people show up to create and receive it. And that includes you.

As we prepare for our final concert of the season, This Is Our Song, I’m reminded that the title isn’t poetic language. It’s the truth. This music belongs to all of us. The singers give it voice. The audience gives it life, and your support makes it possible.

GiveBIG is here, and I’m asking you to be part of what we’re building. Not just a concert, but a community where music is done well in a way that truly feeds people’s souls.

If what we do has ever moved you or stayed with you longer than you expected, I invite you to help us keep going.

A generous supporter has pledged to match the first $1,000 in donations to MCE. Make your gift today and be part of the next breath we take together.

With gratitude, Michael Austin Miller Artistic Director Master Chorus Eastside
