FUN, ADVENTURE, AND MAKING MEMORIES, what could be better?!

From finding recovery… to helping others find theirs. 💙

Recovery wasn’t easy, but along the way, Mia found people who believed in her before she believed in herself. She found connection, community, and a reminder that recovery could be fun, meaningful, and full of purpose.

Today, Mia is over three years sober and working as a Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee, walking alongside others as they begin their own recovery journeys.

On October 2, Mia will take on a new challenge: rappelling down Seattle’s Mutual Life Building for Harness New Heights!

She’s a little nervous, but to Mia, the experience represents something recovery has taught her: face fear, trust the process, and realize you’re capable of more than you imagined.

Mia is raising $1,000 to rappel, and every donation helps Recovery Beyond create opportunities for people in recovery to connect, build community, and find healthy, meaningful ways to have fun.

Will you support Mia’s rappel and help create those same opportunities for someone else? 💙

CAMP RB UPDATE:

After a great deal of consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Camp Recovery Beyond at Lake Wenatchee this August 27–30th.

We have spent the past several weeks closely monitoring the Little Giant Fire, air quality, smoke and wind forecasts, and most importantly, staying in direct contact with Camp Zanika about conditions on the ground. We have consistently said Safety First, Fun Second, Learning Third — and we remain committed to that.

We’re incredibly disappointed, but we know this is the right decision for our community and the Camp RB experience.

The good news: we’re not done gathering in 2026...We’re already exploring smaller Camp RB experiences for this fall and winter. Stay tuned!

Registered campers: Please check your email for more information and next steps.

Thank you for understanding.

Sponsor Spotlight: SanMar! đź‘•

We’re excited to give a huge THANK YOU to SanMar for supporting Harness New Heights!

SanMar is a family-owned, Washington-based leader in wholesale apparel and accessories—and they believe that what people wear can represent something bigger: a team, a movement, a story, and a sense of connection. We think that’s something worth celebrating!

Thanks to their incredible generosity, every Harness New Heights participant will be sporting a Limited Edition Event T-shirt as they take on the challenge of rappelling down the Mutual Life Building on October 2, in support of Recovery Beyond!

Thank you, SanMar, for helping us wear our support, share our story, and take this event to new heights!

Moises has registered to rappel down the Mutual Life Building on October 2! Besides courage, it takes $1,000 in fundraising to go over the edge.

As Moises celebrates 5 years of sobriety, you can celebrate alongside him by supporting the community that has played such an important role in his recovery. đź’™

Stand with Moises and help him raise $1,000 for Recovery Beyond. Every dollar raised helps Recovery Beyond continue creating accessible opportunities for people in recovery to connect, get outside and have FUN together.

Will you support Moises as he takes on this challenge and gives back to a community that has given him so much?

Today is a bittersweet day at Recovery Beyond as we celebrate Taylor Richards on his last day with our team.

Taylor’s journey with Recovery Beyond began more than four years ago—not as an employee, but as a member. Since then, we’ve had the privilege of watching his journey come full circle as he became someone who helped create that same sense of hope, connection, and belonging for others.

In Taylor’s words:
“Recovery Beyond introduced me to a whole new world. Through the outdoors, community, connection, and belonging, I started to see what was possible for my life.

Over the years, I’ve done things I never imagined I would do—climbing Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams, and Mount Baker, kayaking in the San Juan Islands, traveling through the Boundary Waters, being part of the documentary Walking on Ice, and earning my bachelor’s degree.

Working in outreach gave me the opportunity to connect people with resources, introduce them to the outdoors, and watch people accomplish things they didn’t think they could do.

One of the biggest things Recovery Beyond has given me is hope. My healing didn’t come from simply learning to push myself harder. It came from community, connection, belonging, being outdoors, and realizing I didn’t have to do everything by myself.

Now I’m taking what I’ve learned into my new position as an SUDP counselor at We Care Daily. I want to bring that same hope to others—to listen, meet people where they are, and support them as they discover what a better life looks like for them.

I came here as a member, and I’m leaving with experiences, friendships, lessons, and memories I’ll always carry with me.”

Taylor, thank you for everything you’ve brought to Recovery Beyond. We are so excited to see you carry that hope into this next chapter. Please join us in wishing Taylor all the best💙
